About a year ago, we won a mid-week away match at Burton to go top of the league.
The over-riding feeling was one of extreme sadness for the midfield maestro that is Paul Coutts.
Fast forward to this week and another mid-week away win that took us equal top of the league.
Once again, that fact became almost insignificant, but this time because of watching PC run out to take his rightful place back in the best midfield in this division.
Welcome back Coutssy. Regardless of how we've performed in your absence, we've missed you loads.

I just get the impression all the players down there feel the same. There’s a very strong team bonding going on down there. That’s key to how we are performing I think. There’s no Billy Big Bollocks and they are all pulling together and looking out for each other. That’s down to good selection and management.

I wish people wouldn't say 'equal top' or words to that effect, (6 goals) it's not even close.

I’m not sure about the kisses. But if Plymouth blade is down in the hoe it’s simply love-leh there.

Depends. Would you say 'close' was closer than 'far'? And would it be fair to say, for example, that Albion aren't far off the top?

;)

I thought we went top of the league after beating Leeds on 27th October last year?

i'd say a near miss is as good as a mile.

Just Googled it, we went back to the top after beating Burton. I thought the OP was suggesting that was the first time we went top, apologies

Sorry mate, you're right. I dislike that myself, but forgot to change it.
I meant to put 'joint top of the league' ;)

I always think that whilst it’s mid-season it’s ok to say joint top but obviously when it’s the end of the season you’d have to say 2nd or 3rd

There’s Billy Big Bollocks Sharp.

Best kept secret in football, that’s why he’s not that fast.

I’m half a mile away, being good tonight and chinky in the house :) off to spoons on union street though in morning for a few before coming home to watch us go top of the league

Wasn't the Burton game a Friday night?

That's the weekend to me, not midweek.

i reckon as much as we missed Couttsy football wise, it was also a huge psychological blow to the squad.. hopefully his return will give us a massive lift.. it seems to have already started.

Equal points is very close indeed. How often are leagues decided by goal difference? It’s illusory.

The importance of goal difference - Football Fans’ Fallacy number 78c.

78c rebuttal
the importance of goal difference is the equivalent of one point
agree with the rest though :)
