I would strongly disagree with that, I would say there was no indication that he would stay which is surprising for a manager with 2 years contract still outstanding.I can't see him going. There was not indication from the fans forum last week that he would be.

McCabe was asked directly and tried to evade the issue finally saying "he hoped" he would be here. Keeping in mind that Birch is in charge of day to day matters, he said nothing.
Why wouldn't they just say he has two years left on his contract, been unlucky with injuries and as far as they were concerned the managers position isn't up for discussion.
Now that would be backing, what we got was a non-answer and the fact that performances haven't been good enough, the wrong players have been brought in etc.
I'll say it again, you think this despite him already walking away once and being talked round by KM.King Kev will not walk away from his throne. Has no one seen how stubborn he is?
I'd be very surprised if the baord got rid of their favourite yes man. As Coily points out 'cheap as chips' is (in the boards eyes) the best man for the job right now. Unfortunately they have a very different idea of what success looks like than we do.

Regardless of whether you want him to be manager of Sheffield United or not, on balance, do you think he will still be manager in August?
Of course he will still be here unless EVERYBODY who is not happy with the appalling style of hoofball he played for the majority of the season writes to McCabe and Birch and asks for his removal.
He will NOT walk. Reason ...... he wouldn't get another job in the Championship, because nobody else would have him. (unless some teams board wanted a YES man to oversee the dismantling of a team and needed a suitably "cheap as chips" scapegoat).
Blackwell is a lower division manager.

No he won't be manager next season, but I think he will of been offered a role in the "family" of clubs

It's an interesting rumour. Is this based on the same source you heard about Sean O Driscoll from or just speculation? Also, if the other rumours about him bullying and being unpopular with the Academy players are true. Why would United move him into a role where he's be expected to nurture young players?
I think FB meant he would be offered a role similar to the one Robson was offered, however god help us if he's in charge of bringing new players in after some of the dross we've seen through the Bramall Lane revolving door of late.
Just to put another slant on the thread, this was a conversation between a manager and guest at a dinner a couple of weeks ago:
Guest "Are you going to try and sign Billy Sharp in the summer?"
Manager "I've got no chance of getting him"
Guest "Why?"
Manager "Because everyone knows he's going back to Sheff U with O'Driscoll"
Cue the abuse![]()
