Given that Hillsborough is unlikely to sell out, does anyone know if you can just turn up and pay on the turnstiles and go in the Wednesday end? I can't get in at the Blades end - fair enough - and wondered what the chances were of seeing the match live in another part of the ground.

Not a chance . You would need to be registered on the pork database to get a ticket.

Edit: Just checked the pork website and it says:
Sale restrictions are in place for this fixture and tickets are only available to supporters who have been registered on the SWFC database prior to 1 December 2018.

They'll be no pay at the turnstiles I can almost guarantee that.
The only way would be to go down there and purchase a ticket, but I'm sure they'll have a database like us, it would look a bit suspicious if 5,000 extra people that they didn't even know existed suddenly turned up looking for tickets

Ask Freddie who posts on here. See post 118 page 6 on attached thread. He has a ticket in the Pig end £46 going spare. Good luck.

Assume they have similar ticket restrictions in place that we do
I’m watching it from behind my settee hate the sty only away game I no longer enjoy
Boxing Day did it for me but thankfully got it out of my system thanks to attending bobby bobby Davison night

Got to say the Bobby Davison night was my best away experience ever. Also enjoyed the Tonge/Akinbyi victory.
I've avoided the place ever since I sat on their South Stand when Killgallon got sent off right in front of me, but really looking forward to Monday now.

I remember going in the Wednesday end once, and ironically, its the only time I've seen us win there! When I got to the ticket Office their security check was as follows: What team do you support?!

As primitive as that was, I almost buckled! It was awful to say Wednesday! But, it was the only way that I could get a ticket and we saw us win 2 - 1, back in the Warnock days, when Asaba scored one. It was also the same game where a United fan celebrated on their kop and I saw him sprinting down their steps to get out once he was outed! I don't think that ended well! The best bit about being in their end was seeing the Leppings Lane end erupt - twice! You obviously don't get to see it normally because you're in it, and it was a thing of beauty!

I went through a similar security check for the Bobby Davidson match! I can't remember why, but I didn't manage to get a ticket for the United end (even though it must've been an allocation of 6000 in those days!) so me an some mates queued up at Hillsborough. When we got to the front, the keen eyed ticket sales lady tried to trick me as I asked for 4 tickets in the North Stand. "Which fans do you want to be near to, the Wednesday Kop or the United end". She nearly had me, I nearly said the United end and I had visions of the shutter coming down like that twat who hands out treats on I'm a Celebrity. But I had my wits about me and murmered, "somewhere in the middle will be fine". The ticket lady was definitely grimmacing when she handed over those tickets in exchange for my pound coins. What a night that turned out to be, 3-1 to the mighty Blades with a hell of a lot of Blades in the North Stand, (although the blue and white lot will never admit it) to enjoy it with me.

Oh no they never admit that. I was in the away end and after the final whistle when the piglets had all left it was just Blades fans left in the ground. You could see huge pockets of them all over that home stand clapping and singing. I don't think they were pig fans applauding their team off! Plenty of my mates on their kop as well.

your right, I was celebrating big time in that stand

I didn’t have enough loyalty points for the away end. I only get to 4-5 games a year. Seems a shame that a guy who wants to spend £40 on an exorbitantly priced ticket in the Wednesday area when there will be lots of empty seats can’t do so but I guess that’s the way it goes.

You do realise that it was all in your head? How could the ticket woman know you’re a Blade? It’s not like me trying to get into QPR and having to put a fake cockerney accent on. She was just asking you where you wanted your tickets, that’s not unusual.

So I managed to get a ticket today, my bro will be on the upper tier or wherewver the first release section and I’m on the lower that got released today with the extra 1000... first time I’ve been to hilsbrough - Billy’s over due a goal, hoping Madine gets one againts them and confident deano will keep a clean sheet, so yeah it’s safe to say I’m looking forward to it and feeling confident - as we should all be ! :D

You’ve got 2 chances. Slim chance and no chance.

And slim fucked off a while ago.

Do you know anyone who lives in Sheffield but isn't from here i.e. anyone with a non-Yorkshire accent, the further away the better, get them to go down to the sty and purchase a ticket as a 'neutral', sorted.

I was in their North Stand too that day. Thought we were all alone but when we scored about half the stand started celebrating, and we didn't sit down after that. What an experience.

3-1, we beat the scum 3-1...

So how many tickets are we now allocated, are we upper and Lower?

I bought a ticket outside just before kick off that night for their north stand and missed the first goal but knew the cheers weren’t from the home end. As I started running in about 10 fans came running past me the other way being chased by SYP. Must have been blades! Got my seat and the rest is history: I was just 18 and still one of the best nights ever. Remember at the end a lot of United standing in the north stand but no real aggro. On the bus back to town (Sheffield!) from south Barnsley one blade did a piss out of the window at some traffic lights all over some pig fans. Understandably they went mad but the bus got a green light and the entire bus was chanting at them. Funny it pissed down all night, we pissed on them too and in more ways than one! What memories!

3000 upper, this stand holds 4000
1000 lower, this stand holds 2200

So potentially they could easily give us another 1000 tickets, but I doubt this will happen now

Haha. You're probably right. I'm not sure my red and white scarf helped.....
