My first season was 1969/70 as well. We went up in 70/71 with a great side which included TC, Len Badger, Woody etc. We stormed the top division with 3/4 world class players but ultimately the squad was not good enough and it didn't last. We cut corners,sold off the best players and didn't invest in young talent.
Fast forward to now and ok things are not clicking atm after a truly exceptional 9th last season. BUT CW is rebuilding the whole club from the grass roots up. He is probably now a victim of his own success and the standards set were unsustainable really anyway.
He is in the process of transforming out great club and the future is very bright.
THE one player who had the biggest impact on both attack AND defence (plus set pieces)
is out with a serious injury.
However if Chris can get us enough points to stay up in this league I think it will be the best achievement of his career. If not we should be able to bounce back even stronger.
Please back our incredible management team and the players. They deserve our backing.

He hasn't only over delivered as a manager but he's a Blade too which is fantastic. Saying you owe him everything is nuts, yes we are greatful and full of appreciation but owe him everything? Your house, your car, your wife? If he keeps us up this season then maybe!

I'd definitely want to see Chris given a fair crack at promotion (if we go down, of course). If we were well off the play offs by, say Xmas 2021, I'd suggest a parting of the ways would be in order.

Not about sentiment but the fact that , this season apart, he's always been a winner. If he's sacked or leaves and he's rapidly recruited by another club who then go on to achieve success whilst we get involved in the interminable roller coaster of run of the mill manager shite, you know the scenario, we'll be full of regrets.
