We had the Shakey Jakeys clamouring for him last season and it looks like we're going to get the Flakey Freemans bleating the same this season. Sorry pal, its certain you're going to get the same short thrift from Wilder as the previous lot did. I don't know why i'm even getting into this argument.

Ok, I think your missing my point, why not just agree with the OP and maybe suggest who we should sign as competition for the wing-backs?

I suggested I would rather find cover for Mcgoldrick, I believe Freeman and most of the right footed CBs could cover for Baldock, if push come to shove.

No mention of a “resurrection” just stating what I would class as priority in the JTW.

I think everybody is game for raising the bar, but we have to be realistic, its going to take time and Wilder will have to improve each position over a period of time. Its a question of which positions need improving first.

No need for digs at other posters (or players) just because they don't fall within your views.

I dont know what you are talking about. I just dont like people slagging off our players for no reason. We are united as manager, fans and players and as such I will support them. Freeman doesnt deserve the negativity he is getting on here. Im sure Wilder feels the same.

Not even half of the story. We failed because we consistently sold our better players (or watched them get old) and replaced them with inferior.
Amazingly, having appeared to not do that for a couple of seasons we have found a formula for relative success.

Quality Cover across the back line is a must....it would only take a couple of injuries and suspension s to knock us off our stride.

No ones slagging anyone off, just of the opinion that Freeman isn't a PL player. Have you got a problem with that?

The only area where Freeman is way ahead of Baldock is scoring goals( would have fancied Freeman to score at least one of those two on Saturday). However he isn't anywhere near Baldock in technique or defensive qualities.

Not at all you are entitled to your opinion, my opinion is he deserves a chance and I will reserve judgement on wether he is good enough until such time.

Possibly but it wouldn't be much use him scoring if we were losing 5-1 every week.

If you would have bothered to read my post (#5) properly you would have seen I was simply suggesting what I thought cover for other positions was more important that RWB. I didn't mention any resurrection of Freeman, yet several posts later you mention it? Odd.

I have said it before, its possible to discuss improving the team without slagging off current players. You should try it sometime.
 
Quick answer: no.

Long answer: bigger priorities than wb. Besides, it is such a specialised position in our formation, lots of covering, filling in not to mention the amount of miles covered. Anyone coming in would need several months getting to know the role. Osborn and Besic seem to be the preferred cover at the moment. Any January spending will go elsewhere in the team.

Who's slagging Freeman off? Think you're getting having a valid opinion mixed up with slagging him off. He was excellent in league 1 and reasonable cover in the championship but seems unfit and defensively he'd be vulnerable in the prem. Please dont ask people to show respect, it's extremely condescending, especially when no one is being disrespectful in the first place. You reckon this forum's crazy? From what I've read it'd be a little less crazy without you telling people what they can and can't do.

Erm, I don't know how to break this to you but I wasn't replying to you. I was addressing the OP and commenting on one of the subsequent posts where Freeman was brought up. All in the spirit of the thread. Sorry to disappoint you, you can go and stick your head back up your arse now.

Cheesebored calling Freeman “shite” and comments like above, yes I do think constitute as slagging off a good servant of the club. Its just uncalled for.

Also the shakey Jakey / Flakey Freeman stuff is what I would call condescending, but each to their own.

I agree, but it's a difficult one this. To replace Baldock or Stevens would take players of £10m or more I reckon. I don't think we are yet in a position to spend those sums on full backs when we already have very able first choice players.

Let's just hope that we keep the points tally going and we are on 25-30 points going into the new year. Even if disaster happened then I'm sure we'd be able to patch the side up and get the required points. Next summer (if/WHEN we are still in the prem) will be a very interesting window!
