Definitely an area for consideration. Especially the right side.
An athletic right sided CB who can cover RWB and LCB would be ideal.

Why are you so insistent Freeman isnt good enough? Dont you think he at least deserves a chance to prove himself? There were a lot on here saying Baldock wasnt good enough before the season started. Now people are shitting themselves if he gets injured. Talk about fickle.
Freeman is a bit part player. He played a minor role in the Championship and isn't anywhere near the first team at PL level. The OP has made a very valid point and investment in the WBs should be a priority. There's nothing wrong with the two in place at the moment but that doesn't mean we shouldn't look to improve. As I said, lets raise the bar and dispel this cloth cap attitude once and for all.
I dont know what you are talking about. I just dont like people slagging off our players for no reason. We are united as manager, fans and players and as such I will support them. Freeman doesnt deserve the negativity he is getting on here. Im sure Wilder feels the same.We had the Shakey Jakeys clamouring for him last season and it looks like we're going to get the Flakey Freemans bleating the same this season. Sorry pal, its certain you're going to get the same short thrift from Wilder as the previous lot did. I don't know why i'm even getting into this argument.
Spot on and had to make a similar point on another thread.I dont know what you are talking about. I just dont like people slagging off our players for no reason. Anyone who is old enough to remember will tell you that our previous sojourns in the top flight, especially the one in the 70s, ultimately failed because the strength in depth in the squad was totally inadequate.
I hope I am not alone in this, but when Baldock went down for a while against West Sham, I shit myself! Literally, what do we do if either him or Stevens are out for any length of time, in my book we do not have the right quality players to come in and do a job at this level, I know CW works miracles with players, and Freeman did a good job for a while before, but as we learned in The Championship, he is a quality lad but not really at the level we would need, and on the left even worse, I know the lad from Notts Forest can play there if needed, but for a length of time? in this division? I know people think we need to strengthen in January in a host of positions, but to me this should be priority one and two. Who agrees/disagrees?
Ok, I think your missing my point, why not just agree with the OP and maybe suggest who we should sign as competition for the wing-backs?

The only area where Freeman is way ahead of Baldock is scoring goals( would have fancied Freeman to score at least one of those two on Saturday). However he isn't anywhere near Baldock in technique or defensive qualities. No ones slagging anyone off, just of the opinion that Freeman isn't a PL player. Have you got a problem with that?
Not at all you are entitled to your opinion, my opinion is he deserves a chance and I will reserve judgement on wether he is good enough until such time.No ones slagging anyone off, just of the opinion that Freeman isn't a PL player. Have you got a problem with that?

I did in post #14 if you'd bothered to read the thread.
Who's slagging Freeman off? Think you're getting having a valid opinion mixed up with slagging him off. He was excellent in league 1 and reasonable cover in the championship but seems unfit and defensively he'd be vulnerable in the prem. Please dont ask people to show respect, it's extremely condescending, especially when no one is being disrespectful in the first place. You reckon this forum's crazy? From what I've read it'd be a little less crazy without you telling people what they can and can't do.This forum is crazy.
OP asks the question:
Is wing back cover/competition priority in January?
Then we end up slagging off players who have actually got us here (Freeman).
Show some respect.
Just answer with yes or no, followed by the area where you would rather see investment in.
Ok then, why not just leave it at that?
Would read much better if you left out all the Shakey Jakey/ Flakey Freeman stuff.. load of bollocks.
If you would have bothered to read my post (#5) properly you would have seen I was simply suggesting what I thought cover for other positions was more important that RWB. I didn't mention any resurrection of Freeman, yet several posts later you mention it? Odd.
I have said it before, its possible to discuss improving the team without slagging off current players. You should try it sometime.
Possibly but it wouldn't be much use him scoring if we were losing 5-1 every week.
Lowton?!Talk of resurrecting Freeman is ludicrous, we'll be bringing Jake Wright back into the squad next. FFS lets start raising the bar for a change and bring someone like Lowton in, we're not skint anymore and we're on our uppers on the pitch as well.

Lowton?!
Cheesebored calling Freeman “shite” and comments like above, yes I do think constitute as slagging off a good servant of the club. Its just uncalled for.
Also the shakey Jakey / Flakey Freeman stuff is what I would call condescending, but each to their own.
Also snooty you can show me how to stick my head up my arse, you seem to be an expert. Fucking bellend.
You are a delicate little flower aren't you?
Says the bloke making nicknames up.
“Fanboys”... get a grip ffs.
Cheers for that info, fascinating read.Someone used it on me a couple of weeks ago. I thought it was a pretty good retort. I didn't suffer any lasting damage either.
Dont think that's moving forward when hes no better than baldock and would probably cost a few mill.Yeah, an established and accomplished Premiership player. I thought that would throw a few people out.

Anything else?

Gary Neville had a decent prem career too, shall we bring him in?We'll pick up on this again when Baldock's PL career matches Lowton's.
