Our midfield would get overrun. Swap Jebbison for a decent midfielder, and you might be on to something, but we saw what happened when Slav tried 4 at the back, we were atrocious.

Slightly different players now though, would be similar to how we play now but would mean lowe and bogle wouldn't have to track all the way back (a bit like now lol)
P.S Berge has gone missing again like now lol. Also if it isn't working we could always bring Osbourn and 1 other on in the 85th minute lol

Janaury was a big missed opportunity but the embargo was around unfortunately. We definitely needed 1 or 2 fresh faces to boost the squad. Worked well for Bournemouth last season.

Ben Pearson or Lewis O'Brien for CM with Norwood would have been a good start.

There were a lot of tired legs out there tonight and an early away game on Saturday doesn't give us a lot of time to recover. I'd make a few changes to try and freshen it up. A few of our players need resting.

I'd go with:

I'd love to be able to rest Ndiaye. He really seemed to flourish when rested previously, but McAtee needs a rest and I don't really want McBurnie and Jebbo upfront. McBurnie played a full game so I'd be surprised if he will start on Saturday lunchtime.

I think Bogle needs a rest. He also looked like he might have picked up a knock. I wish Baldock was fit as I'd rather not have Osborn on the right. Anel too looks shattered all the time. Bash in and Clark on the other side. Fleck would be a bit of a risk but we're struggling for options.

Not one team is scared of our midfield. Yes, Norwood can ping a 60 yard pass, Berge can occasionally run by you, Osborne...? We may have an honest set of professionals but none puts the fear like a Trevor Hockey or a Billy Bremner or a, dare I say, Vinnie Jones. Maybe I'm old fashioned though.

We've needed a combative midfielder for 3 seasons now. You could even argue when we went up that was missing. Just to see out games.

Slav/VW/who knows tried to sign that ex-Leeds lad, that fell through and then we let Slater go. I know there were personal issues there, but that seems like a weird decision.

I think the issue is that we expected Doyle to be fully fit and also Fleck to be about. Neither have been all season really.

We also had a very limited transfer budget. Hecky has paid for one player in 3 transfer windows. I think he bought Coulibaly back out of a slight desperation but I presume what he sees in training is nowhere near good enough for this level. I think in a perfect embargo free world Coulibaly would have gone on loan to league 1. He needs games in this country. We can play him but if he fucks up then we lose.

i also think fleck might start saturday not a game for mcatee weve now only got 3 forwards mcburnie isnt fully fit and illiman looks knackered not yet time to panic but if we do fail to make the top 2 it will be down to this transfer embargo in january we were crying out for at least 2 additions to bolster the squad and we couldnt do it the boardroom will have lost us promotion if we dont make it bad management all round but of course nothing new for sheffield united

Fleck or Osborn for McAtee, probably Osborn. I don't agree with it but it will happen.

I think he needs a rest either way. Looked absolutely shattered (but was getting forward a lot). I'd rather play Bash against Millwall and have Anel in against Watford.

Norwood doesn't venture forward and you tell Doyle/Coulibaly priority is to hold that midfield.
We need Berge further forward than he has been and Ndiaye deeper than he has been (he's much better running from deep).
