We have needed creativity in the middle of the park for many years - not since Brown, McCall and Tong were ion there pomp have we had a midfield worth their pay
Monty and Quinn try as they may are on the better side of shite - no talent, no class AND MOST OF ALL NO CREATIVITY.
We cannot create a midfield out of thin air - manager and manager have persevered with Monty - he cannot pass a ball to players in the same colour, cannot retain possession a.nd yet he is the man to lead the team ion the absence of Morgan.
Sorry Swiss Harry is our best bet to get the best out of the excuses we have for professional footballers.
Could do worse than give Slew and Philliskirk a go this weekend - for me Cresswell may as well sit next to me for the contribution he makes!

Which is what we need to get out of this shit were in, the odd draw here and there isnt going to help us. Palace have been there, done it and worn the t-shirt with regards to battles in the last few years. We, on the other hand bottle it when it matters. I don't see what the fuss is about getting Harry back. Micky's said before that he regularly phones him up for advice and I think he's just involving him more in the day to day business. If he spots a few things that he can improve then fine, and if not - well that's fine too - we've already run out of wheels to fall off our bus this season. A plus point from Micky's view is that unlike Blackie he won't have an ambitious young assistant waiting to replace him.

Beyond the first team there are plenty of positives - best youth squad assembled under Pembo for a few years and the recruitment of slightly older players to push for first team places more immediately. We've practicallly signed and trialled a team of players at this level since Christmas.

Meanwhile the first team remains almost devoid of skill talent and pace -this is the slowest United team I've seen, but there have been no signs that things will change.
I reckon that the likely difference in season ticket sales, commercial income etc. between a team relegated to the underworld and one in which fans can see a real determination to progress would be at least £3 million quid. Jeez, by investing that amount of money in this division we could practically buy a team of bums on seats signings. As for the deadwood we're carrying if we can't sell them then let them go for nowt. Despite the hapless nature of many performances this season I reckon most of them would find another championship club. If that level of investment had been made during the transfer window I have no doubt we would have stayed up. Now we still want 4 or 5 good players but will have to settle for 1 or 2 and from what Birch said about the 'difficulty of attracting the right players in our current situation' he either meant that either we're still only prepared to pay peanuts, that the view within the game is that we're now dead men walking, or that Jesus Christ signed for Blackpool just before the transfer deadline.

I agree Swiss that we do need players and creativity which is not evident right now. If any one can motivate this lot and get them playing above their individual skills,as a team that man is Harry I believe that is what he is here for, and perhaps to put a rocket (not Jason) under McCabes arse .
