We need a new coach

You obviously didn't read/understand what I said.

I didn't say that they should be our manager.

I said that we should look into the likes being on the coaching staff, like Duncan Ferguson is at Everton
No, the manager should always choose his backroom staff

What do we actually do in training?

Do we have someone who coaches how to defend set pieces?

Get Morgan back. He will definitely call out the likes of norwood, fleck and stevens who seem to go hiding. I'm sure he will fire us up and get us back to being aggressive instead of m.prestidge and knill who are probably to scared too voice their opinions

I think this is a great shout.
Wilder probably can't have too much of a go at them on the current run or they'll down tools and he'll have "lost the dressing room".
Getting Morgs in to be "bad cop" and call them out for having complete lack of drive, aggression and will to win might get us moving again.
It's the lack of fight that's killing us now.
Something Morgs has in spades. Would be a cheap option as well.

Thing is i believe wilder will only like a bunch of yes men on his coaching staff. cant see knill, prestidge or ward go against what he says or disagree with his tactics. he would need challenging just as much as the players and Chris Morgan is 10000% the man

Graeme Jones joined the Newcastle coaching staff as Bruce said he wanted a 'fresh voice'. As soon as he joined they changed the system and won 2-1 away at Everton.

Meanwhile Bournemouth have signed up Jonathan Woodgate up for their coaching staff, someone with considerable PL experience. We don't seem to have anyone remotely like that in our coaching set up.

Of course delighted with our relative uptick in form and performances, but when I see Oli Burke you just wonder how good he could be if he had someone like Duncan Ferguson to work with him :(

Burke needs a horse whisperer.

I bet all of our fans would have been happy with the appointment of James Beattie as coach if we'd have got him, that worked out well for the pigs. Whilst I'm all for appointing good coaches, I think Wilder will know if he needs anything specific.

If only we had some aging pros looking to move into the coaching side helping the youngsters along. Sharp and Jags you say? Oh if only we had players with those sort of attributes at our club right now to coach the kids.

Hi, Stegosaurus here,

I recommend the Irizar I8. The ultimate in luxury, long-distance road travel.

The talk going on about Mark Hudson made me remember this thread, and that this still seems to be a bit of an issue.

We seem a bit light on the coaching side, it might be worth adding to it and getting some new perspectives?

Agreed RE Hudson. Rather have ex PL quality like JOC or Jags.

Its not just PL quality coaches, its people that have PL experience, pedigree and contacts/influence within the game.

Jags would be a good appointment. That's if he is doing coaching these days?

Would there be a consideration for bringing AK back to work alongside Macca and Hecky.

I'm not necessarily against that, however I do think it would also be good to get someone with an outside perspective that would like to challenge the system rather than someone who knows the club all too well like Lester and McCall.

Theres this beauty on ebay, just needs a few rattle cans of black paint and jobs a fish.Screenshot_20231004-194028_eBay.jpgI'm guessing it could help with tactics too, as we just seem to let folk walk through us, and were shit at parking it, so could practice that??
And maybe we can afford to hire a proper defensive coach with the cash saved, as our current one is dog shit!?

We need a defensive coach to get us well-drilled and better organised with better discipline.
