our promotion will be confirmed the day we are not playing! For example; Let's take a late April Tuesday night and Bolton/Scunthorpe/Fleetwood?? are playing against a fellow league 1 side...baring in mind that they HAVE to win otherwise Sheffield United are promoted without kicking a ball. I want us to go up as much as you guys do.. but surely that has to be the worst possible way of getting promoted in such a potential memorable season?

Nothing can beat a packed out Bramall Lane or a rammed away end of red and white colours. But then again, the footballing gods may just punish us in the respect of not celebrating promotion with the players on the pitch and instead not kicking a damn ball in the same evening.

God I hope this doesn't happen IF we get promoted

Whilst I understand where you are coming from to an extent......I''m not allowing myself the time to get dragged into such thoughts at the minute....

After so long in this league now, the manner in which we achieve promotion would be totally irrelevant to me......It is all simply about getting promotion in the first place.

That's how it happened last time. I remember watching Danny Webber's goal at Cardiff on TV and celebrating it like the promotion clincher, firmly in the belief that Leeds would confirm it for us the following day.

I was at Ninian Park that day. We celebrated Webber's goal like that was it, and then celebrated all over again when Reading equalised at Elland Road the next day. But even in the midst of all that I remember thinking, "I wish this had happened at a match."

While I know what you mean, personally I'll take promotion in any way and at any time possible. If I could choose though...in front of a sold out BDTBL against Bradford would be very nice.

I was there in the car park when loads of Reading fans turned up to celebrate with us. It would be great to do it by just wining though.

After what seems like an eternity in this poxy division, I'd be happy to achieve promotion however it comes!

At this point, is anyone (clearly there is) that choosey about the manner in which we achieve promotion? Ideally, it should be won at t'Lane, but beggars can't be choosers, so let's just be happy when and where it happens.

I dont care as ling as we go up.....

Celebrating at home is fine.... but id rather we just got over the line an any way shape or form!!!

If things go well enough we'll be promoted while still having the title to play for. I wouldn't mind much anyway since it would mean we got at least one home game where we'd be in celebration mode. I want that more than a desperate final day against Chesterfield.

Hope it's not at Northampton. I'm at Celtic v Kilmarnock that day. Pointless game too since Celtic will already be champions by then.

So was I. Still have pics of me with some of them, and we were briefly shown on Look North that night. It was a great day, but I still think going up this year would trump it, IF it happens.

Was on Five Live that day.

Vale away,good Friday.
Like Cardiff away on good Friday in the promo season(Webber). That goal sealed it.???

There'll be 2 bites at the cherry for big celebrations this year though

1- the most important achievement is end our prison sentence and gain promotion and
2- another great achievement is to win league 2, puts us in a select group of winning all 4 divisions.

The promotion will be as much about emotional relief as it would be celebration.

Celebration will out do the relief.
From the relief will come excitement of the future .
When it happens,I will relieve myself!!!

I remember that too! Heroic! I was fortunate to be at Cardiff too but it is annoying to win and be waiting on others playing another day. In this case though I don't really care!

its going to be us 9 points clear with 3 to go with the best gd

teetering on the brink but having to wait a week ,

be nice for hanson to score the goal that takes us up v bradford at home

It'll go to the wire or not far from it. No way we'll be up at Easter. Six away games two home games up to Bradford game. This is Sheffield United we're talking about don't forget!!!
