We may go up...but I just have a horrible feeling that...

Just one thing. Can we all keep off the Desso, please?...
Nope.

Why should we?

The greatest memories in my time of watching the Blades have been those pitch celebrations. A time when players, management, fans embrace each other in celebration. It's really special. I was on the pitch when we chaired Dave Bassett around the ground. Magical moment!

Why not allow it? Health & Safety regs is it?

It'll go to the wire or not far from it. No way we'll be up at Easter. Six away games two home games up to Bradford game. This is Sheffield United we're talking about don't forget!!!

3 home games, 6 away. Millwall and Coventry are before Easter as well as Charlton.

our promotion will be confirmed the day we are not playing! For example; Let's take a late April Tuesday night and Bolton/Scunthorpe/Fleetwood?? are playing against a fellow league 1 side...baring in mind that they HAVE to win otherwise Sheffield United are promoted without kicking a ball. I want us to go up as much as you guys do.. but surely that has to be the worst possible way of getting promoted in such a potential memorable season?

Nothing can beat a packed out Bramall Lane or a rammed away end of red and white colours. But then again, the footballing gods may just punish us in the respect of not celebrating promotion with the players on the pitch and instead not kicking a damn ball in the same evening.

God I hope this doesn't happen IF we get promoted

Sat on the front step listening to the radio as Hull failed was a good as been at the Lane when it all goes OK.

I now where you're coming from but trust me promotion is promotion no matter where you are.

Was going to mention that.
1984
I was at Uni at the time and had the radio on for the Hull game where they had to win by 3 clear to pip us.
They won 2-0 but peppered the opposition goal. It was tense, it was nervous but it was still sweet.

I'd not like to go through that again but if it turns out to be that promotion is confirmed on a night we don't kick a ball then I'd be quite relaxed as we'd only sort it the next game. In 1984 there was no next game.

On April 17 v Bradford we now kick off at 1215, Fleetwood and Scunny have games kicking off at 1500. We could have 3 hours after our game waiting for a result to confirm promotion.

After our game, live PA updates and open bars until 1700 followed by wild celebrations could make for a memorable afternoon.

UTB

The problem with the Sky game (Bradford) is if that win confirms our promotion, there will be about 30 seconds of coverage after the final whistle where they say "Sheffield United are promoted", before they switch attention to Fulham vs Villa.
