It’s been a great start, though I think we’ve generally had a more comfortable start to the season regarding opposition faced. Let’s see where we’re at as we go into November. Let’s not get too carried away as there are some tough, tough games coming up.

Got to eat humble pie, I thought wilder would be no good this time around.

Proved me wrong ! Long may it continue.
I didn't want Wilder back at the club, my reason was because I don't like to see explayers or managers returning to the club.
It can bring unrealistic expectations and cause problems if the performances of their first time success is not repeated.
I have nothing against Wilder personally, in fact in my lifetime, Bassett/Warnock/Wilder have given us some of the greatest memories.
Wilder is building something new, it is great to see a new togetherness within the team.

Dropping two points to 10 man QPR is more annoying.

The points deduction was deserved for not paying bills, can’t complain about that too much can we.

But we could be 4 points better off and absolutely flying.
I think that result against QPR was actually beneficial in terms of learning about complacency and game management. Likewise the draw with Norwich shows that we can come back from being behind and not to panic.

Small things I know (and maybe it’s complete bollocks) but after last season we badly needed to learn how to see a result out.

It was piss poor to chuck a two goal lead away. Especially after they went down to 10 men and scored their second afterwards.

I still think we’ve got a way to go.

We often seem to get to 1-0 and then sit back more. The Swansea game was infuriating as we largely surrendered possession from 60 mins onwards while only leading 1-0. It looked like every time we pressed, we’d force them into a mistake or make a chance.

I agree it was piss poor but hope that it was beneficial from a learning point of view.
The Swansea game was very frustrating as we backed off them and they passed around us seemingly at will at times.
Maybe Saturday was evidence that they have learned from that as we looked much better, albeit Luton were garbage.

Long way to go and totally different opposition from last year obviously, but the organisation, decision making and structure are night and day in comparison.

Maybe, just maybe Wilder takes this lot up overachieving, adds a couple when we go up and we finish in a a solid position in the prem. just like pre covid. He has done it before, why not again ? Iam starting to think we will.

The biggest learner from QPR game ought to have been Wilder - he literally sat back and watched us lose control of that game , giving the initiative to QPR , without making any subs or changes to shape.
I was furious with him 😠
But in the last two games he's shown that he can utilise his squad and make proactive subs 🤗

Unfortunately for me the joy of pushing for promotion is always going to be tempered by the nightmare of last season. With nothing seemingly happening with regard to a change of ownership. We seem to be hurtling towards a déjà vu situation…Hoping to be proved wrong.

I’m trying to repress the memory. I’ve a sort of PTSD, nightmares , hypervigilant, anxious, crying. Although I’ve managed to go for a walk after months of hibernation and my beer belly’s shrinking.

This team has far more athleticism and skill than the one we watched crash and burn last year. Let's not get carried away. It's early days and we might not get there, but if we are promoted surely we won't need to weaken the team this time in the close season...

Quite enjoying this humble pie. I didn't want Wilder back, I didn't see it ending well. 17 games in we're top of the league, despite a 2 point deduction, won more than anyone else in the league, unbeaten at home, 7 straight home wins without conceding. Yes there have been a few iffy performances, but overall you really can't find much to moan about so far. HUGE game on Friday night now. Imagine if we come out of it still unbeaten at the lane, and Cooper keeps another clean sheet. You'd really have to start to fancy us if that came to pass...

I found myself wondering if the players now want it more than the fans.
Of course fans want promotion, but I’d be lying if I said I was just as excited about the potential prospect as I was when Wilder took us into the championship for the first time all those years ago.
For some of the players though, like Campbell, Cooper, Burrows, O’Hare, etc., the desire to play in the premier league must be huge.

The anticipation is never quite the same second time round.

I’d take relegation now….If we could guarantee we don’t concede so many fucking goals. I was so ashamed of last season, because we couldn’t even put the wind up two teams with points deductions.

Fans love winning football and the bonus is that we’re playing nice football and scoring a variety of goals. I think we’re likely to see more open games after the new year as teams become less cautious as they push on.

The players will be enjoying this, I remember when I played crap level Saturday league that when we had successful sides we always bonded more and enjoyed the feeling of winning whilst playing well. You can only imagine the Blades players feelings right now.

I think more so for the likes of Souza, Hamer, Robbo and Anel that had to endure the full season last year but also the new players looking to make that step up will be enjoying this equally. Long may it continue

The team now is a lot better than the one that came down. I think we’ll be capable of putting up a relegation fight with some additions rather than capitulating every week. That was what was so soul destroying.
