First and foremost i would like to add that i think we are one of the top 5 teams in this league; we have hit a rocky patch and i do not enjoy watching the blades at the moment.

The thing i wanted to add to this thread is my concern regarding the change in Blackwells approach to the game. Statements of his intention to play good attacking football have given way to admissions that he wants to win ugly; a step backwards in my opinion.

The problem is that we are failing to win whilst playing ugly and that combination pleases nobody! Play poorly and win and you'll keep a section of the fans happy; play well and fail to win and you'll still keep the purists from voicing there displeasure.

I am dead against replacing the manager, i just want him to be more positive in his approach and i actually think his team selection on Saturday was a step in the right direction.

Least we are back in the play-off spots.

Me too. Not to the extent of wanting him sacked, as unlike Robbo, he clearly has the capacity to be a good manager. He just needs to start believing in himself and the team a bit more, and stop playing this dreadful negative 'anti-football'.

I mentioned in another thread that all managers, upon their appointment, promise attractive, attacking football. It is page 1 in the "getting the fans on side" rule book.

The problem is that he has now admitted that winning the game by whatever means neccessary takes precidence over putting in a good performance.

Following the end of Neil Warnocks reign we were all hoping for a change in style when in fact it looks as though Balckwell is happy to play the game in exactly the same style. I do feel this is a sure fire way to turn a massive number of fans against him.

As i say i do not want to see the manager sacked but i am very disappointed with the performances this season so far.

Agreed. He's basically had our pants down. The squad IS capable to playing attacking football, as we saw at the end of last season. So why isnt he setting the team out to play that way this season? Has he lost confidence in the players?

No. Not as such. Dig out a trasnscript of his interview from early on in the season. It makes for grim reading when you look at how his change in attitude has affected our game.

Fair enough but i would personally prefer to go and watch a good football games

Don't get me wrong i love united and never want to see us lose, but i used to love coming to games and watching a thriller nearly everyweek would entertain
