I picked up the worrying tones after the latest humiliation that some of the expected signings might not happen. But for the love of God, can anyone assure me that we aren't going to persist with George Long?

There's so much wrong right now that everyone is confused as to what to do next. But surely, everyone but the most clueless of fans can see that this position must be addressed?

Please, please, please give us some news.....

Think a combination of players demands and perhaps our bad start is holding a lot of things up. Wilders comments about it being difficult to bring players in, agents asking for this, players asking for this etc more or less confirmed what we all know. Many players see us as a big pay day, whilst the board want us cutting our cloth. Nightmare scenario when you desperately need quality, which generally costs a little bit at least.

2 million for Adams and we are f*****g around like this again in the transfer market. You literally couldn't make it up.
 
I don't know why people are surprised. It was obvious that it was going to be harder to do business once the season started. No one wants to get rid of first teamers unless you pay massively over the odds, and it's easy to hold clubs to ransom if, like us, they are desperate.

We should have done much more business in the close season, like well run clubs do. This was particularly important this year as there are no loans.

It is very disappointing that the club fall into this trap every single season.

Che was always going to be sold. I said this at the end of last season before Adkins was sacked. I said the same about Brayford. He will be gone by the end of this window.

Don't care about either - only care about who's coming in?

Absolutely right re Ched, which is why we should have done more business earlier.

I was unsure re Brayford but now I think he may be playing to get away, so to speak. Hope I am wrong.

It's gone as badly as it always does when McCabe decides to cut the budget. I wonder if he'll buy his way out like in 2013-14?

Couldn't agree more. The gulf between league one and the championship is growing every season. Given how administration has been a long term positive fir so many teams I'd rather gamble than go down this painful slow death route.

Nope. I don't think we are going to sign anyone. Who, worth his salt, would want to come to perennial failures like us?

I have to confess I'd never heard the saying 'buy cheap, pay twice' until I moved down south.

But when we do pay for it, we don't get it! Look at Brayford and God knows how many more!

In football I'd say you get what you pay for if you're smart. Not if you're retarded like us.
 
I put this is another thread and refuse to be anywhere near happy in picking up any 'career sub' as our new keeper. Their experience does not count.

Can't just pick any keeper because he's older than Long. He's played very few games for a lad of his age. We need to be looking at lads with recent playing time and maybe lost their place in preseason or who were on Monday somewhere last season. Anyone happy to sit on a bench for their career can fuck off and just another bullet added to the wilder chamber
