Morning,

I do more reading on this and other forums than I do posting and I am getting rather disconcerted about the amount of stick given to Blades players. I have been a supporter of Sheffield United FC since I was 4 (now 39) and have never wavered and stood by them even in the toughest times - school was tough with mates choosing Man Utd, Liverpool etc. My Grandad introduced me to the Blades and when asked 'who's your team?, I always say with pride 'Sheffield United'. I move around the country with my job and don't get to watch home games as much as I would like but when I do I sing my heart out and always with a tear of admiration, I applaud the players as they leave the field. I am a Blade and will always be a Blade - whatever the league, whovever is the manager, whoever is the chairman, whoever has the privalige to wear the red and white stripes in anger.

Yes, agreed some players don't always play to their potential - but do you think that booing them actually helps!! We should be getting behind them, lift them, get them believing in themselves again. Let the opposition fans do the booing for the right reasons!! At the moment we aren't the most attractive team to most available players and the management team is always doing what it believes to be the best - and we, as fans, do not always get the whole story.

I believe, this season, we have a sound, capable squad and the Prem is in sight!! Please, please get behind the players, coaches, management!! We can make a difference!! The noise at BDTBL can make a huge difference to how the visitors perform!! If you are going tonight - lift the roof, leave with a sore throat!!

Not everyone is going to perform to your liking every week but lets not hinder them by booing or slating on forums - be constuctive and sympathetic sometimes!!

WE ARE BLADES!! WE ARE BLADES!!

Peace out!!

We are 5th, haven't conceded a goal, and look as good as anyone else in this division.

Get behind the lads, cut out the booing.

Good post and well thought out.

SQuinny is getting a lot of stick at the moment but no one seems to care to understand that he was our top scorer last season before he had a back injury that forced him to miss over a month. In fact didn't he still end up as top scorer?

I had to give up playing from a back injury 20 years ago so I know what it is like. You want to do the same things you could before but you cannot get them right. It's wierd, you get off balance, stretch too far (not to the line of the ball), experience loss of power and accuracy in crosses or shots you used to make with ease. Every once in a while you can deliver but the consistency goes rapidly and coming back from that type of injury is very, very hard. I believe that his form is a result of him still struggling to adjust. He needs time to recover and patience from the fans not the Boo Boys getting on his back every time he plays.

Isn't this all discussed in another thread?

Are we going to get to the stage where we have 49 threads all saying exactly the same thing?

I agree.

It's starting to feel like da ja vue.

Ouch!
It's only my third post. I haven't read all the others, being a newbie and all.
Thought all the bitching stayed on BU when it died.
I'll piss off back to my corner again then.

It's not bitching, it's just an observation.

BU used to have thousands of threads all saying the same thing.

We didn't have much of that on here, and it was easy to read through the new threads.

Now there are loads of them, and they're all pretty much full of the same few subjects. Makes trying to read it and keep up pretty difficult for those who were used to it pre-BU shutting down.

I know, I felt that one from here! Slap on the wrist for you.

It's not my place to slap anyone on the wrist. I was just saying, that's all.

If Quinn has had the type of unjury that you believe he has then he has my sympathy.
However, the team comes first and the problem becomes one which Blackwell should address and not leave Quinn in the firing line in match play.
We should not be fielding players who are not at their best, that is what a squad is for.
Blame Blackwell for not having confidence in other squad members.

Far be it for a newbie to chip in but it's inevitable that some threads will end up repeating themselves. If a general thread such as 'promotion chances' gets going, the team, players, tactics and just about everything else will get discussed and this is bound to cross over into subjects mentioned elsewhere.

Not at all, Jim - everyone should, and does, chip in. That's the whole point of a forum.

I think it was just that the post was essentially a repetition of what had been said in the thread about booing young Quinn. As I mentioned, it's hard enough to keep up with what's going on here now without topics meandering across different threads.

No offence meant though, and sorry if it was taken. I'm not a paragon of virtue on here, as I'm sure some others will attest!
