Hopefully we can carry on our recent winning record there, but I fancy a draw to be honest. 1-1. We take the lead through Beattie with King equalising for Watford.

Depends if Robbo feels that Carney would be more effective on the left side... as he moved him across half way through the first half.

We never used to win at Vicarage Road, but managed to break the duck a few years ago and haven't lost since then.

Sounded dire on the radio until they scored. I'm not going to rant and rave about Robson out this that and the other at the moment, but i still feel that our defence more than anything needs improving.

The defence certainly needs sorting and taking out one of the best performers so far this season geary was a bad move. Why 3 upfront ? When 4-4-2 works for us.
Still early doors but we need to sort that defence out otherwise we can forget about promotion.

There was an article in the Mirror today saying that Robson was getting the players in for extra training sessions to work on their defending. Doesn't seem to have made a difference today.

We weren't great first half, but we weren't that bad either, and actually forced a decent save from Poom. Weren't getting bullied in defence for a change, I thought we may come out and improve and sneak a win. How wrong I was! Second half we were dire. Nothing from the forwards, little possession, poor passing, flakey defence (just before the goal, 2 of our defenders ran forward towards the Watford player that put in the cross, then ran back again, clearly didn't know which of them should close him down so both of them were in nowheres land and the player had no pressure on him), no signs of passion. Only chance was a good free kick from Tonge that the follow-up forwards just failed to reach after Poom spilled it. Armstrong prop our best player today. Very disappointing, no quick return to the Prem in prospect based on the 2 league performances to date.

Just got in from the match, and here's my take on the game...
The first half, we played good football and were the better side, I genuinely thought we were going to win at half time.
They came out in the second half a different team, the passing was poor, the defending for the goal was poor, our all round game was awful.
Felt sorry for Beattie, he was isolated at times. Tonge looked lively, and Stead did too but it just wouldn't fall right for him.
Webber didn't look interested, Gillespie was a joke, wouldn't run for the ball, wouldn't run with the ball, wouldn't do anything. Montgomery was poor, his passing was even worse than normal.
Can't argue with the defeat I was very pissed off at the end though.
We need to start performing in two halves otherwise we won't do very well.
Not getting too downhearted yet, we just need a ball playing midfielder and a centre half, and we should be ok.

shite, i thought the tactics were ok to begin with but Watford got used to us second half,Robson didnt change it quick enough and fucked us over.
Pretty much agree with all of that. Little dissapointed at the 2nd half performance after the 1st half. But again we only had 3 shots on goal (from what I can remember) Header in 1st and Tonge's shot and free kick.
Oh well bring on the baggies!
heard booing at the end. can understand some of the fans fustrations. the signings we have amde and we are suppost to be promotion contenders, yet was cant beat colchester and a promotion rival.

BUT we if we are going for promotion, we should be beating lesser clubs and promotion rivals and at the least putting out a performance.

Pathetic defending especially Bromby who looks to be slow witted, Beattie looked disinterested and needs dropping so he can get it into that thick skull of his he won't get picked unless he picks his game up. Webber is useless against thug defenders, King is a prat, Henderson's a thug, another inept refereeing performance again, pathetic support from Watford's "only sing when we're winning" fans.
And to make matters worse West Ham cheated their way to a win today and Leeds won.

Don't think the manager, whoever it is, can do much during a match apart from changing players or tactics.
Im worried to say the least.
The midfield needs to be improved as soon as possible, I'd be more than happy to see the lad norris come.
Im not going to go on any blades forums this week, it will just depress me.
