Watch out Burnley are coming

That's how I saw it, the difference between Company's side and Parkers is night and day.
yeah weve been so unlucky with injuries to arblaster souttar souza campbell and a couple of others without all these injuries we would have won this league this season imo

Burnley now selling Jay Rodriguez to Wrexham, leaving them with 2 regular strikers and Ashley Barnes

im more worried about Sunderland than i am about burnley. as is usual Scott Parker like at Bournemouth. is hugely underperforming compared to the squad & budget he has to work with. (excluding that freak plymouth 1st half) burnley have scored 1 league goal since they beat us on boxing day (4th January) & scored 8 goals in the last 11. that is not promotion form

Been chatting to a Burnley season ticket holder this morning, he is fed up of the false 9 system

While Burnley's current defensive form is certainly impressive, there's 1 or 2 things that would concern me if I was a Burnley fan.

1) they've drawn 13 out of 30 games, with most of those 13 being 0-0 draws, won 15 and lost 2.

By contrast our record is W19, D6, L5, Leeds are W18, D9, L3,

2) the lack of goals, especially when you consider some of the players like Jaidon Anthony, Sarmiento, Marcus Edwards (not sure if that's been confirmed yet) and Zian Flemming that they have, they don't score enough goals.

I've seen Blades on here suggesting some of our signings or even our inconsistent performances (mainly the second one) might cost us the autos, has anyone considered that Burnley getting so many 0-0 draws might very well cost them the autos.

It's all well and good getting clean sheets and draws, but if you're not going to turn a lot of those 0-0's into wins because you can't score enough goals, you'll find yourself losing ground on the top 2.

I was talking to a Leeds supporter on Friday oldish guy and he said that Farke likes to work with a small squad and that they don’t need any more players in. The problem as we’ve found out of late is injuries and statistics proves from half way through the season they happen very regularly perhaps that’s why Leeds crumble towards the end (hopefully) I know that they’re still paying for a lot of misfits from previous seasons so in other words skint.

According to an article in star they are after another midfielder from a Russian team someone that farke has managed previously

It’s a bit hot and miss buying players halfway through the season it’s well documented that the bigger teams with a lot of money shy away from it unless they need to. From our point of view we were numbers short at the beginning of this season in fact we were joking that we couldn’t put a team together but that said CW has and we’ve done far better than what I originally thought we would. Our new owners have backed us because in all honesty who can’t smell promotion albeit we have t got it and also there’s imo 4 teams going for 2 automatic spots I’m just hoping we can make it and again tbf we are being backed which we should be grateful for. If we could just get a decent CB on loan…

Stopping the ball hitting the back of their net…

Worth noting that we sit 2nd still, but have the most wins, 18 after 29 games, Leeds have 17 and Burnley & S’land 15.

Burnley know how to keep the ball out but we know how to win

We’ve also lost the most with 5…
And we've lost the 6-pointers to Leeds , Burnley & Sunderland ...

Imagine if we'd won those and put the points into the table , we'd be clear top.

Despite the deduction , despite the modest GD.

Yeah we’ve lost 5 games to Leeds, Burnley, Sunderland, Boro - all in the top 4 / 5 at the time. The only outlier is the defeat to Hull

Hugely underperforming as usual, yet got promoted in two out of two seasons in the Championship.

A lot can change between now and April but if we played Burnley next week I would take a 0-0 at Turf Moor all day long.
All you need do is sit back and make sure you don't make a defensive mistake, and 0-0 is there for the taking.

We're worried about Oxford tomorrow. They will certainly want to defend, Parker doesn't want to attack in case of letting a goal in, 0-0 is surely on the cards.

Over the years when CW has been our manager I’ve noticed we don’t draw thar many in comparison to other teams
Only Watford have drawn less than us this season. It's an interesting point regarding us, I don't know if it is coincidence, or down to approach. You often hear praise for unbeaten runs, but generally these will include many drawn games. Yesterday, commentators and summarisers, were waxing lyrical about Arsenal's unbeaten record. However, draws against Villa, Fulham, Everton, BHA, etc. have cost them points galore. Lose one of those four, win the remainder and sure no unbeaten run but five points better off.

I realise it's not as simple as it sounds, but I do feel unbeaten runs, can be a misleading statistic. Points accrued over the last six games paints a more accurate picture.

For example, Burnley and Leeds unbeaten last six games, whereas we've lost two. However, Leeds and us both gained 12 points, Burnley only 10 points.

you can underperform & still get promoted. He shouldve won the league in both season with the money & players he had. scraping promotion through play offs & just about falling over the line with Bournemouth is underachieving
