Can anyone find the Jon Stead goal at Charlton. It’s the year we were in the premiership 2007 (I think)

I remember it being a lovely April day and we went down to London Town full of hope. We went 1-0 down and then the hope was replaced by nerves. Then Jon popped up with that goal.

I want to see it again because was it a beauty with the outside of his boot or am I just got my rose tinted glasses on again.

Remember watching it in the packhorse at high green. The place is still rocking to this day

Great day in London and great goal. Was stood perfectly in line and went ballistic. The Valley is still a fave away day

You mean this goal?

About 12 of us travelled up from a 40th Birthday do at Butlins in Bognor, prob 35 miles as crow flies but 4 trains & two bloody hours and had a good few around London Bridge but worth it to see that goal , should have won it as I remember didn’t Tonge go for glory when he should have played Stead in ?

One of the best away atmospheres I can remember. Loud as fuck the whole match.

I was there, with my Dad and Brother. Found a pub right in the Thames across from the dome. Great weather that day as well. Good away day. Remember their goal was a jammy speculative effort that Paddy has no chance with.

It was a great day. Remember it being a warm, sunny April afternoon.

I also recall after the game some United fans singing 'Keeef, Gillespie' at a look-a-like steward, much to his dismay.

That pinpoint through ball from Monty where he even had the vision to play it under the defenders' foot was world class.

I remember the day well, needed a piss all the way from Blackfriars to Greenwich and no loos on the train then someone threw up all over our row of seats before the game started and it took them about 60 mins to come and clean it up.

I remember the goal, I also vaguely recall having a chance after that to make it 2-1.

Yeah, I think Tonge had a chance to shoot but put it over - not an easy one but you sort of felt that the momentum was with us! Evidently not as it turned out.

One of my favourite-ever away days. Have barely been able to bring myself to watch any of that season again after how it ended, but watching the video above I forgot we then won our next game against Watford. Actually amazing that we went down, I don't remember feeling that it was ever in any doubt after the Charlton game.
