Was it a foul on Simo?

I spy with my little eye, something beginning with A.

Agenda.

Some fans don't rate Simmo therefore it's his fault even if fouled.

I don't think it was a foul nothing to do with who the keeper was

did he ? or was it simmo that made contact with the striker?

No the striker was the one who moved into Simmo as he went to release the ball.
Also as he was the one who had the full view of what was happening, the strikers actions were intensional.
A deliberate obstruction or interference when the keeper is releasing the ball is a foul.

Hope so but I doubt it? Looked like he failed to see him and as he stretched arm backwards in act of rolling ball out he made contact with the striker and ball came loose.

Anyway, regardless he's a complete clown.
defo not a foul just a silly mistake. anyway we got away with it. UTB

By that reckoning a striker can stand behind the keeper and move with him every time he has the ball in his hands and cause a clash and get away with it.
The rule is if a player prevents the restart of play he can be booked and that is why strikers dont stand in front of the keeper when he is kicking out of his hands.
Bowling over arm, under arm or kicking out of his hand the LAWS OF THE GAME are the same. he deliberately blocked the restart of play when the goalkeeper had the ball. Just to be clear if the keeper has one hand on the ball it is illegal in THE LAWS OF THE GAME to knock it out of his hand.

goalkeeping 101 rule 1.. always check behind you when you clear the ball.. basics..
yeah there is an agenda.. just two more of blackwells clowns to get rid of and we'll be cookin'

So basically what you are saying is that dispite it being a clear foul in the laws of the game, the goal should have stood because you don't rate Simmo?
Incidentally who are the other players you want bombed?

Simonsen's fault. He is totally unaware of the Bouremouth player.View attachment 4904

Do you mean it was Simmos fault he got fouled?

The ball is dead in Simmos hand. Until it is released from his hand the ball is not in play.
Scenario, if Cresswell waits behind keeper and as the keeper is about to roll it out he runs at the side of the keeper and knocks his hand you would not expect him to get away with it.

It seems to me that most on here want to blame Simmo simply because they want to blame someone rather than actually looking at the fact that the ref was crap in the game as a whole including allowing a second blatant hand ball to go unpunished with a second yellow card for the same player and an obvious foul on the keeper.
Look elsewhere for blame.

What I mean is that Simonsen had the ball in one hand, as the photo shows. He continues his throwing action, completely unaware that the Bournemouth player is standing next to him. He throws the ball and his hand into the Bournemouth player.

What the referee does in the rest of the game is irrelevant.

He does not have to be aware of the Bournemouth player being there unless he is going to relinquish control of the ball in his locality. The Striker has to allow the keeper to restart the game without disruption it is part of the laws of the game.
striker should have been booked for disrupting the restart of the game.

The point is has Simonsen got control of the ball when it is only in one hand? A long time ago, a player headed the ball off of the goalkeeper's out-stretched hand.

The player then put the ball in the net. The goal stood. I can't see much difference between the two situations, as far as the laws of the game are concerned.

Except that the laws have changed since then.

The difference is, fart in the general direction of a keeper today and it's a foul.

Top stuff Super - totally agree.

Simmo's fault IMO. Looked to me that the Bournemouth player was going to walk round him & Simmo didn't know he was there and threw the ball into him.

That's exactly the point I've been trying to make. I entirely agree.
