We've got so many foreign players now that his team talks might not make a lot of sense to half the team

There must be a English language in the South Yorkshire dialect course at the local college they can enroll in, surely?

Doesn’t “bloody foreigners” belong in the madness of General Chat?

What's the point of getting warnock in he might bring players in January who a new manager might not want.....get a new man in then he has two transfer windows to shape the squad for next season.

We don't have any money to bring someone in in January so that's not going to.be a problem xD

2006/2007.

We averaged a point a game that year.
And what happened? He couldn’t hack it. Never has. As it’s highly unlikely he could this time what’s the point of giving him the job until the end of the season? That this time he’ll do it?

West Ham signed Carlos Tevez and he scored the winner on the last day of the season to keep them up instead of us, don't you remember?

The point of giving him the job is to get us 7 more points, install some belief, passion and fight with tactical improvements, qualities which are sadly lacking at the moment.

I remember us being some points clear of the bottom three and hearing him whine about his contract for the last few months of the season. I also remember being at Villa Park and watching his appalling tactics. Had he concentrated on the team rather than his wallet the last day wouldn’t have been an issue for us.

That’s without thinking of the effect on the fan base.

He'd have that lad at QPR who he was spanking over last season, infact in and Mcburnie might just do it in the second division.

If Warnock came in at least we'd sign some big centre forwards to hold it up, in January 😄😭 Probably four of them for less than £250k. Enough to cover the inevitable injuries.

We'd get more airtime with Warnock as well as he's somehow become mainstream.

Can anyone corroborate the Sean Bean screaming at Warnock story, after we went down?

Definitely prefer him over Wilder.

Why?

Get the impression most people make their decision on who they like instead of who is the most suitable.
This seems to be the current fashion, it's all about personalities and whether you love or hate someone.

Pros for Warnock
1: He consistently gets an improvement out of players low on confidence in a relegation fight.
2: He would probably accept a 6 month contract.

Against Warnock
1: Hardly any PL experience and what little he has is poor.
2: Constant excuses, it's either the ref, the weather, the traffic, would give us more media attention for the wrong reasons.
3: Wilder has more recent experience of the PL and of success, he knows the owner, the staff and the fanbase better.
So on paper Wilder is a strong candidate but might demand a longer term contract.,

A few weeks ago the thought of Warnock in the PL seems ridiculous but now I'm so desperate I'd take him.
However still think Wilder in the PL is a superior option to Warnock, altho I'm not sure that Wilder is a long term solution
so I'd offer him a short term contract, take it or leave it.

Wilder and Warnock were both ultimately shit in the prem. Why go for either?

Have you forgotten Wilder 1st season when we were challenging for a Champions League spot with a set of average players?

Almost every PL manager is ultimately shit otherwise no PL manager would ever be sacked.
Using you're logic you'd never appoint anyone who's previously managed in the Premier League.

Also to be honest....over 95% of manager had bad spells and are ultimately sacked.
So again using your logic, there's hardly anyone we can appoint.

Anyhow failure can be a learning experience and make manager better.

He could add them to the rest weve brought in

You seem to fear history repeating itself.

We would be very lucky if it did considering our current predicament and trajectory.

A couple of weeks ago I wouldn’t have had Warnock back in a million years.

However, after that Bournemouth performance… gerrimin!
Any support for the idea of getting Nigel Clough back, would get respect from the players. Incidentally, I never heard why he
left us before, it all seemed very sudden

It’s unlikely there’s a quick fix to be had. What are the benefits of Warnock coming back apart from motivation etc. He motivates the players to get seven points, big wow, and then tractors off in the sun.

It’s root and branch change we need, not fluffy bunny memories ignoring the realities of his PL failings.

I agree root and branch change but we can hardly do that now. Over the summer is best imho. 7 points is 'fine' in that we avoid being the worst team in top flight history and can move on.

The new manager will want a fresh start, being hammered every week with a group of players that probably won't be here next season is hardly conducive to anything positive.

Anyhow failure can be a learning experience and make manager better.m thoughts. Wilder had two seasons in the prem. one brilliant one appalling. Warnock has had a few goes and every time he has failed. Compare Wilder and Warnock with Allardyce. I’m not saying we go for big sam but look at the difference in terms of experience and record.
We need someone with a better record than one good season in the prem.
We keep mentioning Wilder and Warnock forgetting the bad times they brought us in the top flight.

Not forgotten, it was a glorious season.
But wilders record is 2 seasons in the prem 1 great 1 appalling. Warnock has failed 3 times with different clubs.

Look at someone like allardyce and his record. Not saying we should go for big sam but he has far more top flight pedigree than both our old managers put together.

There have to better options out there.

He’ll make them get of their lazy backsides and play

Part of me is warming to Warnock.

And the other part remembers him resting players and waving a white flag before many games the last time we were in the PL.
