Imagine a midfield of Reid, Britton, Willo and Monty (erm wait here, i mean mopping up and passing the ball 1 yard lol).

Ok, the Reid thing may have been difficult, and i obviously dont know how hard we actually did try to keep him in till the end of the season.

But lets look at Britton - arguably our best 'footballer' since the days of Brown, (the 2003 version) of Tonge and Jags.

What did Adams do? Drop him as soon as he arrived. Yeah great - "if tha dunt want to be here, then feck off back to Swansea".

What would Warnock have done? I'll tell you what, he would have assessed the dire situation we were in and realised we desperately needed an on song and motivated Britton. He would have, almost embarrassingly, sang his praises publicly and put his arm around him. THAT is what good managers do. Even if you couldnt stand his guts and secretly knew he wasnt part of the plans beyond this season, you still use your MAN MANAGEMENT skills to get you out of a very dodgy situation.

We are now left with Doyle, Monty (as play maker) Willo (out on the right where he is ineffective, and Creswell. This is why we are putting our faith in one dimentional hoof football to survive. Well done Micky!

He wanted to go, and was a high wage earner, and hadn't been performing well lately. I doubt Warnock would have done any different - in fact when he arrived he sold some that had been performing very well that season, namely Martin Smith & Shaun Derry.

Give over Casper. There were plenty of players that Warnock shipped out and right now, i'd rather go out there with 11 academy lads if they are the only ones that want to play for the club

Britton was part of the problem, people talked him up but in reality he was a tippy tappy footballer who was largely ineffective. But lets not forget, he had no bollocks. Glad he's gone

Reid was really what we needed, he stated he'd come back if no PL team came in. Unfortunately a PL team DID come in so he was never coming back

Our squad is extremely weak at the moment, we have big names (and wages) on the injury list which are a noose around the neck. Micky needs players and quick

I remember the Martin Smith situation very well. Its Warnock who actually got him playing - talked him up in the media etc. It was Smith himself who decided to go for the money to Huddersfield. Big difference with Adams\Britton. Britton was dropped and moved on straight away. I think with Derry, the Board sold him, much to Warnock's anger, apparently.

I take you point, but i think you are missing mine. Warnock got rid of players, sure. But he also recognised certain players value to the team and would man manage them accordingly. Players like Bent and Devlin were desperate to go, but they only went when we were out of danger and could afford the luxury of time to wheel and deal. Adams is in a completely different situation. He had half a season left to keep us up. When he arrived, sure we were in danger, but never perilously so, it was perm any 3 from 7 or 8 teams to go down. We are now 3rd bottom, 4 points a drift, with a truly shit team devoid of any skill whatsoever.

Bottom of the disciplinary league too??;)

Warnock also had the joys of a transfer window which lasted from August to March.

Bent and Devlin were prime examples, he got the best out of them and then they wanted out...

We apparently had a shite team devoid of any skill what so ever before Adams arrived

But thats where you are wrong. We had Britton, Reid and Bartley. ok Reid perhaps he couldnt do too much about, but he could the other 2. We also had Willo coming back into contention - i bet even he didnt think he'd be played on the right wing though!

Also, dont forget Adams has brought 5 players in - and from the evidence so far (perhaps Lowry apart), non of whom are any good.

And all rumours report Bartley and Britton wanted out, personally you can't keep those type of players in your team, spirits are already low. you don't want a set of sulkers there too. Also Bartley was pulled away by his parent club what could we do? Fuck all we don't own his registration, end of!

As of the players Adams has brought in what are you expecting when we have naff all money? Teams aren't going to give us their players. Adams may have took what he can get. Whenever you bring a new player in the team they are a risk, they may come good they may not, some don't settle others, just don't have the stomach for hard work. Adams has tried to make changes, but I'd also like to think he'd liked to have made many many more. This still isn't his team, five players are his and he's already weeded out players who aren't up for it.

Why don't you start backing him and supporting the lads instead of questioning him all the time, am I happy, no but I will back the man to try and sort this rabble out... because I feel he's been given a very shitty end of the stick.

Of course they wanted out. Tevez wants out of Man City but scored a hat-trick yesterday. Thats my point about man managers. We owned Britton and i believe Bartley was on a season long loan but we gave him permission to return to Arsenal because we couldnt guarantee him first team games cos of the arrival of Collins.

He's been given the shitty end of the stick?? How do you work that one out? As Swollengland said in another thread - did he not know the situation when he arrived? and if so why wasnt he shouting a balling and telling the fans as it is. No he's not had the shitty end of the stick, he's wheeled and dealed with the limited resources he knew he had, and turned us from a poor side into a piss poor side. But yep, ok lets clap along.....

and we have still not been told what we got for Britton. Two bob fifity I believe

We didn't let him go for nothing and will get more dependant on clauses.

Wrong - Smith (and Bent) were two very good signings by Heath. Warnock did not like Smith and shipped him out at the earliest opportunity. Sure - he went to Huddersfield who were the moneybags team at the time and why indeed shouldnt he go there? - btu it Was NW who got rid, not him wanting to leave.
Derry - NW was told on joining United that Derry was going when he was given the job at United. Whilst he wasnt 100% overjoyed about it, he was complicit in the sale.

Yes Bartley was a season long loan, but he had a recall clause input into that agreement, possibly the only way we could get him, so that means we have no say in the matter of what his parent club wants to do. Tevez is a bad example he was after more money, Britton didn't have the bottle, do you real want players who haven't got bottle in the team in this situation. I certainly don't.

He knew he was getting himself into a team battling relegation, he said when he joined the club, he barely knew a thing about the team, he was thrown into the deep end with a team shipping goals for fun, he tried to address that situation by bringing in a defenders. Mattock seemed like a decent trap and so did Lowry, Lowry has impressed yet Mattock has been inconsistent prior to his injury, those are risk you take signing every player, not just one. Yes he has tried to wheel an deal but I say by those signings the exact extent of we can afford at the moment. I never said owt about clapping along but how do you feel negative support helps us now? I never said clap along but at least try to back the man for a little longer rather than just lambast his every decision when he inerited a team already on a path downwards.

everyone is going to clap along no matter what comes out on here.. you shouldn't make the assumption that cos some of us moan and groan on here that we are the numptys that boo the shirt

I've heard from inside the club that we could not afford to keep Bartley!! We approached Arsenal asking if they would take him back. They agreed on the condition that they could loan him out to another club within the window! Lucky for them Rangers had been watch Bartley for sometime! Also he wasn't happy at the club and wanted to move on!
With regards to Britton, he also wasn't happy and was home sick! he had moved from Wales leaving all his family and partner behind and wanted to go back! Also the club was happy to off load him from the wage book!

>we could not afford to keep Bartley!
umm hold on a minute.. Bartley is a young arsenal reserve.. he isn't cesc fabregas. he couldn't have been on that much arsenal or not
if that is true and we can't afford to pay such a player then we must be close to bankrupcy

Who said Warnock signed Bent and Smith?? Of course they were already there, as was Derry. Smith came to life under Warnock, but he wanted more money. I distinctly remember Warnock bulling him up in the press. Warnock might not have liked him privately but he didnt ship him out at the earliest opportunity - Smith had pound signs in his eyes and went to Huddersfield for a reported £5k a week i believe. And the board got rid of Derry - thats what i said. Warnock obviously knew this, but it didnt make him happy.

Leon Britton was home sick as his wife didnt want to move to sheffield and take the kid(s) out of school. If they had moved up, Britton would still be here

I never assumed anything like that. I asked about negative support against the manager and players when certainly on the players part they are already devoid of confidence.
