Warning to goal celebration pitch invaders

Sadly, I think that all the warnings in the world will do no good.
The following things are also banned in football stadiums
a) turning up pissed
b) snorting coke
c) taking in pyros
d) very wittily squirting brown sauce all over the concourse after removing an air-conditioning unit and terrifying concession stand staff.

What worries me more is one of our little scrotes getting on the pitch and when being confronted by an opposition player attacking him. Or even twatting the referee. I can almost smell the points deduction.
And how long has snorting coke been banned in the ground ?
I've never seen a sign up anywhere ,and I'll carry on until I do !!!
:p

Quite often when a goal is scored the crowd surges forwards, and those at the very front sometimes end up celebrating with the scorer. A few may end up on the side of the pitch and may even encroach onto the touchline for a few seconds while play is stopped.

This isn't the same as running onto the pitch when the game is in progress but it gets treated as the same thing.

It's not necessarily disproportionate though. Any penalty has to be severe enough to act as a deterrent or it's pointless.

Should it be applied to an end of season celebration? Probably not. Should it be applied to anyone who invades the pitch during a game? Yes, including those Cov supporters.

Of course there is subjectivity in how proportionate the response is. But at a gig, dickish behaviour in the mosh pit, crowd surfing etc which can be against the rules in some establishments may result in having you slung out on ya ear. but ..... you'd not expect to be treated as a criminal, banned from future gigs as well as condemned from the town centre every time a band is playing.

Even a position that at 90 mins it's probably fine, but during the 90 mins it deserves full law bearing weight seems a tad odd.

If the action deserves such a heavy sentence surely the crime warrants it whenever acted out.

a sliiiiiight over reaction maybe?

a few people have suggested a fairly apparent dis-proportionality of the penalty to the 'offence', not given a rallying cry to benny hill around the 18 yard box.
no its not an over reaction when it comes to this world we live on, anything could happen that's why we have laws.

Nice, I've not had chance to put my tin hat on for ages.....

So with it all being a conspiracy, not wanting to let us out of League 1. Someone ITK..... has told me that Fleetwood are sending a dozen blokes to sit on the front row of the kop, late in the second half they are going to run onto the pitch and attack the referee. Thus securing a 30 point deduction so they can finish second.
Wouldnt they be better doing that at Bolton as its less points to get deducted?

No, not really. During a game is disruptive. It's the difference between running onto a pitch and entering the field of play.

A gig is completely different and a club's policy towards moshing is precisely that, a policy, not law.

Pitch invasions lead to big fences being erected to stop them. No one wants a return to that, for obvious reasons. If it takes harsh penalties to stop it, so be it.

I can't see the need for anyone to encroach on the pitch at any time and by doing so spoil the celebrations for everyone else, including the players and staff.

And that includes the end of season shenanigens.

Anyone that gets a ban for such childish, selfish behaviour deserves all they get in my book.

Won't be a popular view with some folk but as usual they will be the vocal minority spoiling the day for everyone else.

Yes, certainly looks like the players celebrations were spoilt here...

Jesus christ it's just a moment of absolute bliss, to me it shows you how much it means to a fan when he just can't control himself after a late goal or maybe a title winning goal! Love how passionate some fans are and i think the last few seasons we've suffered i for one wouldn't call anyone showing a bit of passion for our club!

Just a quicky, do you condemn players when they jump in the crowd when they score to celebrate with fans? Nah thought not!

To all those even thinking about having a wander on the Desso during game time. Feel free. Can you also wave your arms about crucifix style and spit in the face of the referee whilst kicking out at the opposition keeper. The resultant 10 points deduction will put us in a position whereby my 100/1 bet will be nailed on and one half of an Ibanez S Series S6570SK is mine. Selfish I know but you go for it lads.

Bet the cunts stand up at away games as well.

Absolute vermin.

Here's similar scum when Man City won the Premier League:

And here when Wolves got out of League 1, awful, awful people...

And, avert your eyes if of a sensitive nature, here's Hull celebrating their promotion to the PL....

Honestly the world is going to pot. If anyone does this they ought to be imprisoned. I can only imagine what the players would feel like when a fat bloke runs alongside them and...(shudder)....pats them on their head, or says "Up Dem Blades".

Yer totally missing the point.

"they're celebrating goals on the pitch"

It was only 7 posts ago.

I know it's a open church on here with differing ages and aspects on life / standards . I would like young and old to keep off the pitch on all remaining matches both home and away so we all can soak up the atmosphere.

When it happens it's going to be both relief and emotional .

Drink , drugs play a big part to behaviour . Not a do gooder , far from it , but we have waited a long time for this .

Don't fuck it up . Remember Winston Woolf

So everyone knows the consequences of invading the pitch. We could face a fine or points deduction, and individuals could be banned and hit with a criminal record.
If people decide they're still going to encroach onto the field, and one of the above do occur, there can't be much sympathy for any who moan about it.

Not let's get on with the game!

Agree with you . More tea Vicar .

I'm guessing if Bolton get promoted on the last day they will invade the pitch at the end of the match as well.
And millwall if they sneak into the playoffs on the last day...etc,etc
It's what happens every year
The only problem is if opposing players and officials get man-handled in the melee that will lead to possible sanctions

Agree in the middle of the game it's not worth it. Didn't read the OP properly

No problem at the end and I'd suspect fans would leave the pitch for a lap of honour if asked after the Chezzy game.

Might mean a 10 minute delay but what the hell.
