Just watched the highlights from the BBC. If you freeze when the ball came across, Ward looks onside. Marginal decisions and linos tend to call them offside more often than not, but to my eye there was nothing wrong with it - Ward did well to get on the end of it.

at the game i jumped up but looked straight at the linesman as when the ball came to ward he looked 2 yards in front of the defenders on his own but thats from the Kop.

on the highlights it looks close

Interesting one - I've done the same on BBC iplayer and in my opinion he is inches off-side when the cross is struck.

Unbelievably tight and if benefit of doubt is with attacker then arguably it is a goal.

I think it it was just the right decision but lino was guessing and that is the problem for me

Win some lose some.

The most pleasing thing was that the two recent goals that we have have been refused [Hendo and Wards] both came form good passing/movement.

We seem to be creating better chances than last year.

I sit in line with where this happened and ward was definately onside. The linesman was around 6+ yards behind play.

As he seemed to be all game. Also felt the need to flag for our 1st goal, despite the ball clearly hitting the net (then again we know refs don't always give it when the balls hit the back of the net!)

I thought he'd waved for offside for a second the way he did it!

We commented at half time that the officials had been okay for a change. They made up for it second half though. I sit on the south stand near the kop and it always seems to be our lino that's a complete idiot. Every game. Can anyone tell me if they sit on the opposite corner near the Bramall Lane end if they think the same about the lino there? I wonder if the pressure of Blackwell, subs, Kop noise etc. does make a difference to negative decision making, but the lino opposite has less interference?
