wanted - dead or alive.jpg

The following trio are wanted for crimes against football. The sunshine band and real ale and proper football alliance are offering a hefty reward for if any of these 3 are caught. Some heinous crimes were committed against the beautiful game in London over the weekend and these men are believed to be responsible. This is no laughing matter. Some seriously horrendous crimes were committed against the beautiful game that we love and these villains must pay.

In a statement earlier chief of both groups Ollessendro said that he will not rest until these criminals are brought to justice. A group of RAPFA and sunshine band members are out searching for Wilson, Montgomery and Taylor, led by Big Mart on horseback. A hefty sum is available for anyone who can name their whereabouts.

Taylor is charged with being spectacularly crap at football and pissing on Sheffield United’s promotion campaign. Brought on to take a penalty, he then went and completely fluffed it. This is a guy that has contributed nothing to United in his 3 years of being under contract. Looking completely out of his depth in the Championship, he then got injured and did not feature at all. He came back and put in a few inept performances in the third tier, before signing off with a shocking penalty miss. Ollessendro reminisced “I remember a game at home to Coventry when Speed was in charge. Taylor looked so out of his depth it was untrue. He got subbed off at half time and shortly afterwards got crocked. He then bled United of a wage for 18 months whilst he sat on the treatment table. He was so bad that Wilson even brought in not one, but 2 loans left backs, to ensure he didn’t get in the team. Still, the ‘penalty specialist’ made it onto the bench for the play off final and somehow ended up taking United most crucial penalty. Score and we are up. But he has never been a professional footballer and missed. True to form”. The shed builder was quoted as saying he would personally strangle Taylor with his Blades shirt if he ever saw him.

Montgomery has a long list of offences against football, but Saturday was one of his worst yet. A truly inept performance even by the maestro’s standards. He chased shadows all afternoon and did not find a red and white shirt in the whole 120 minutes. Shocking distribution and a terrible midfield performance where the game just passed him by. You’ve done your clown act too many times in a red and white shirt Monty. When Big Mart tracks you down you are heading straight to Pinchy’s basement for what will seem like drei thousand jahren.

Danny Wilson is charged with crimes against football for presiding over a cowardly, pathetic, negative and inept performance that Kevin Blackwell would have had wet dreams about. Wingers with the solitary job of tracking back, one up front, Monty and Doyle in centre mid and set up purely to nullify Rhodes (and Novak). Wilson’s hand may have been forced somewhat, but refusing to change things and stick with such negativity was painful on the eyes. The albino gorilla that founded the sunshine band was seen bleeding from the eyes and holds Wilson personally responsible. No amount of real ale was able to wash away the memory of two hours of horrendous negative football. Had Sheffield United actually bothered practicing penalties and won the shoot out, Wilson might have been pardoned. Instead he oversaw a performance that was worse to watch than Palace, Burnley and Wolves.
Any member of public that brings forward information on where these low lives may be hiding will be showered in real ale. Anyone found to be hiding these fugitives or holding back information will be forced to drink lager in a pub with judge.

They said on telly last night that our first shot on target was after 105 minutes of play!

Shocking in a game you have to try and win.

I'd prefer not to pick out individuals but your assessment of the performance is fair. If you play for 0-0 and penalties, which we did, and then fuck them up in a fashion that even now, 48 hours later, is still difficult to believe (they missed their 1st 3 ffs!), it's difficult to say anything positive about the performance.

A shambles indeed.

Taylor has been a disgrace of a footballer for us. Has he played one decent game for us at all??

Unto Monty. The Maestro. I know lots of people blame McCabe for the shambles we are in. & they have a point. He is the man that signed off his numerus contracts. Has any footballer stolen as much money as he has?
Loyalty? dont make me laugh. He stays with us only because we have been silly enough to pay him his exuberant salary for so long. A dreadful footballer that sums up Sheffield United since 2007 quite nicely. On the downward spiral & ready for the knackers yard. get shut of this sorry excuse for a footballer ASAP.

Finally Wilson. No i dont blame him at all. He inherited most of this squad & couldnt move them on in the summer as no-one wanted them. Im sure he cant wait to get shut. unluckily for him Monty got injured at Millwall. I expect most of this rubbish to be gone from our club next season. Or i will lay the blame at his door this time.

How they judge those things I don't know. Hill had a shot in the 1st half after a short spell of pressure it was outside the box when hit and was destined for the bottom corner, had it not been blocked within say 10 yards.

Taylor was last seen starting the Sheffield half marathon on Sunday, at the pace he can run he should be about to pass Sheffield arena in the next few hours and is scheduled to hit the finish line sometime tomorrow afternoon :D
Monty on the other hand is heading to the south coast hoping to get on a boat to Normandy by the 6th of June, he overheard Frank Lampard of Chelsea talking about how a Midfield General was needed against the Germans and got a little confused as Monty does. :D
Danny Wilson went to Hudderfield this afternoon to see what the celebrations were all about but missed out somehow, he was last seen trying on Ganex raincoats and looking for a pipe ..............well it made his namesake Harold a great leader :D

$1m? who's paying this? McCabe/ Sunshine band/ Rapfa? So far i've only seen McCabe dip his hand in his pocket...

As for the criminals:
Taylor. Brought on for less than 2 mins and replaced Monty, he came on to take a pen and all he did was hit the post with it. He's been out for 14-16 months with what was previously a career threatening injury. He's back in now... is that criminal? No.

Monty. shipped out to Millwall (a division above us) and got injured. Came back through injury, he's a defensive midfielder. He's not conceded a goal whilst he's been in the team in 150 mins of football...Is that criminal? No.

Danny Wilson. Played a system that was intended not to lose. was intended to stop Huddersfield's free scoring striker (scored 4 against 2nd place Wednesday). With 2 strikers almost fit, the creative midfielder out and without wanting to risk kids, he played safe. The play offs are a one off, a chance to play win or bust. To score more than the opposition. To take the game to the Opposition. To Have a go. We didn't have a go - style of football apart, we didn't have a go. I'm glad it wasn't my £88 going into Wembley....

Criminal? No, the season was over after Stevenage. The season wasn't pissed away by Taylor. Monty or Wilson.

Sadly, there were many other factors in ending this season so poorly...

Don't want to depress people any more (and don't shoot the messenger!) but, as I came back on the train on Saturday, there were some ITK-ers sat opposite. It seemed they had enjoyed some kind of corporate-package day out, and had mingled with the players' families (and were obviously on first-name terms with some of the players).

Well, among several things they were discussing (including the news of the coach pile-up fatalities were false rumour) was this...

...here goes!

They reckon Taylor had to just make one more appearance (which was Saturday) and he's been promised a new contract.

I'm off!

I have to say I did say on several occasions on Saturday afternoon, 'I can't believe this we are playing for penalties' disgraceful.

With the players available I think Mr Wilson played the best system he could with what he had. We've been a victim of circumstance once again. Don't blame any of the three people blamed in the OP. I hope that the accusations were tongue in cheek, but very much doubt that they are.

Best system with the players available? We were missing 2 players - albeit our best 2 - but if that means we have to try to scrape a 0-0 against a team that finished 9 points below us, it doesn't say much about the rest of the team does it? To not even try to get players forward on our rare attacks was unbelievable. We were crying out for Lowton to get forward. Penalties are always a lottery so it's madness not to try to win it in normal time.

I don't think any of our strikers are good enough but I'd have gone with Porter & Cresswell.

But even if you go with 1 up front you can still be far more positive by getting your midfielders & full backs forward where possible. Lowton's strength is going forward but he never did. We were incredibly negative. They weren't much better but they were better than us on the day.

Cresswell was shocking - he didn't win a thing in the air & added nothing so having started him I would have replaced him with Porter at HT.

Thought Cresswell did well to tell the truth. They didn't know what to do with him at the start and he battered his way through a couple of times but had no support.

When people say we had our 2 best players out, we did; but don't forget that we'd had the backup option of Will Hoskins until a couple of weeks before the end of the season. Had he been fully fit, I think we'd have gone up personally.

I,ve just seen Wilson he was walking out of a really old building blue colour, in the S6 area of sheffield. He had a really big smile on his face holding a really large cheque. As for Monty i have a mate in Leeds who spotted him in a coffee shop with a guy called Neil Warnock they were laughing and joking and he apparently heard the guy Montgomery saying "i just kept giving them the ball as best i could". As for Taylor just shot him so i'll have the reward please.

I have to stand up for Taylor a bit. Yes, he is crap, but as SB said, on the pen front he was a tad unlucky. A foot the other way, the pen would have gone in, we would be up and Taylor would be a hero. On such margins is our fate decided....

I think it is harsh to criticise Taylor. I would imagine Monty was brought off as there was no way he was going to take a penalty. Wilson probably asked the guys on the bench if either fancied taking one and Taylor said he was up for taking one in the first 5. It's unfair to blame it all on him, at least he stepped forward to take one unlike some forwards who didn't take one of the first 5 (Quinn and OH spring to mind).

He'd probably have earned himself a contract. Every cloud and that.........

UTB

And so the post/pre season era of utter shit talking commences. Let the games begin. With shit talker in chief posting his thoughts (OP in case you were wondering) in bulk.

Groan.

Williamson's miss was crucial for me. If that goes in then were set up nicely

'Fraid so, Bladesway. Having been at the game and studied it on DVD, once again it all came down to 'inches'. There's really no point in post-mortems, the wheels began to wobble at home to Exeter/Oldham/Wednesday (delete as appropriate), totally fell off with Ched, then BT and Hoskins.

Saturday was, if anything, incredible even by our standards but any team would have struggled in the face of that shitstorm of bad fortune. In the end, we just ran out of players (and nobody knows who that was down to.)

Fuck knows what we've done to deserve this bad luck, but we carry on.

And Huddersfield needn't feel too smug. When Rhodes goes, they'll find the Championship a very unforgiving place. As, hopefully, will Wednesday.

grafikhaus you make a good point - Huddersfield were hugely reliant on Rhodes' goals this season and as we've seen, being solid without your main goalscorer isn't great. If Rhodes goes, they'll really struggle: I can't see Lee, Novak and A.N.Other tearing up the Championship.

Wednesday have already lost Batth, who's had enough of playing for them. If they can't re-sign Antonio and if (a big if) Madine is indisposed then it'll be an interesting season for them too.

I believe both of them will struggle without major additions to the squad and it would of been the same with us. I still didn't hold much faith that half the team that got us relegated last season would keep us up had we got promoted.

Anybody else think Taylor's head looks hilarious in this?

"he battered his way through a couple of times" ?

When was that then, if you saw it, it must be true ? Mind you I was so high up the players looked like dots and I immediately deleted the recording I'd made as soon as I got in (so many times recently) so I may have missed it. Whatever the reasons we were piss poor. I really don't think I'll ever go to a big game like that again, can't stand the "hope" as a few have said

Good points well put. Its all about our ability to chuck away winning positions. Reminding me of the England Cricket team of yesteryear oddly enough. Was hoping it may be different this time but in reality knew otherwise. Even plans B & C looked assured until the fickle finger of shite rested upon us once again with BT being shitter than anyone could have expected and Hoskins getting injured we were always on the ropes following the ched case. Imagine Huddersfield having lost Rhodes like that. We lost half our team, our leading scorer, our playmaker and our backups. At this level you don't have others to fill those voids. So you are left filling with bit part players.
