Just checked out his record at Championship level. Before last seasons mammoth season when he scored 16 goals in 44 games his previous record is 13 goals in 88 games. Not impressed.

He's a changed man nowadays. He started practising Kabala last season.

Makes you wonder why huge clubs like us, Derby, Boro and even Ipswich want him so badly then.
Maybe nobody thought to search him on Wikipedia first!?

In Sharp we trust then...

Good job he's going to Derby then.

Leon Clarke's previous 2 championship seasons were:

2014/15 - 3 in 29 for Wolves
2010/11 - 1 in 21 for QPR/Preston

What's your point?

He scored 27 for Rangers in 57 appearances, that's almost a goal every other game - not bad! (I know, it's Scottish opposition though!). He's been in and out of teams a lot, often used as sub, during his career. I think he's very capable tbh. Always seemed to be a major threat whenever he played against us.

Not just Scottish opposition, mainly Scottish 2nd tier opposition. The same division Scougal and McNulty came from. In a team creating lots of chances. My Scottish mates think it’s hilarious that he’s being banded around with that kind of price tag.

The longer the Waghorn saga drags on, the less inclined I am to think we should sign him. Or the rest of the dross that's been mentioned so far as attacking options. I was of the opinion that a bit of pace wouldn't go amiss but the way United play it's not the be all and end all. Sure there's the quick fire passing but the trouble is by the time we've fannied around getting it out to the wings, the pace of any striker is nullified. He could have done a lap around the pitch given the length of time it takes to get the ball across. So that leaves us with needing someone with the nous to knock it in when the ball finally arrives and we've got two of those already. The age thing is the only concern but we've got the next 12 months to sort that one out.

Wanghorn? Wanghorn? Who's this Wanghorn everybody's talking about?

Well that's good cos we are not getting him.

mine too hence the skepticism
Rangers mates reckon ‘he’s ok but not 5 mill ok’

Fuck it.

Go with Sharp, Clarke and McG. Bring back Ched at Xmas.

Freeman and a few of the others as cover for injuries etc.

Save the loot. If we gonna spunk it, let’s have a massive Peroni bender :)

I was a few levels below the underwhelmed level when we signed Leon. That didn't turn out too bad did it?. Waghorn would be a great fit for us.
We should try and shoe-horn Waghorn in then. 28's not owd for a striker anyhow. He's got a few more years left in him yet and I think he'd be a good signing for us. Although I hope we are also still looking for someone younger with height and/or pace.
