Looks like Derby are screwed for buying Waghorn now. Apparently couldn't agree terms at Leeds (clearly wanting stupid money).

Does that mean we're the only likely offer on the table now.

Said it before, if they come sniffing back, i'd knock 1m off our last bid.

Well played Vydra, well played Vydra's agent. Silly greedy bastards.

Saw a report last night that Waghorn to Derby will still go through as soon as Ipswich get a replacement. It was in The Mirror.

If that’s the case I hope they’re fucked with FFP. I have no idea how they get away with it every year. They don’t even sell that many players.

It’s a three year window. Hence why clubs, such as SWFC, spend over the limit for a couple of seasons and are then fucked.

In the same post on SSN it says Mel Morris is unlikely to want to sign without sales because of FFP.

VYDRA MOVE COLLAPSES

Sky Sports News understands Matej Vydra’s £11m move to Leedsfrom Derby has collapsed because personal terms could not be agreed.

Vydra has ambitions to play in the Premier League, and we’ve been told he had concerns about moving to a club in the Championship that finished below Derby last season.

Meanwhile, Kayden Jackson is close to completing a move to Ipswich, which could free up Martyn Waghorn’s transfer to Derby.

However, we’ve been told Derby owner Mel Morris remains reluctant to buy Waghorn, until and unless he can offload Vydra first as Derby are under pressure to stay within the FFP laws.

I said they wouldn’t sign both without a sale and I stand by that.

Doesn’t mean we’ll sign Waghorn mind

If you'd been asked in May which player would be in the middle of the summer's longest-running transfer saga, you probably wouldn't have picked Martyn Waghorn, would you?

I would've probably picked Sam Gallagher, again!

Can't see why Vydra was attracted to Leeds in the first place. Clearly he's a talented lad with ambition but Leeds is not the place where he's going to realise it. I reckon he's hanging out for a prem offer. If not he's better off staying where he is, Derby's recent record is better than Leeds'.

I'm not convinced with the latest management/ownership "restructure" and cash splurge at Leeds either. They go through this phase every couple of years and still manage to fuck up. Plus they're a set of scummy bastards.

A-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!

Should have signed for the shit at S6, then. Fucking MASSIVE!

Footballers, eh?

I still think Keiffer Moore is the right signing for us. Style wise and money wise.

In the interests of fair play - did you go to see us play Barnsley back end of last season?

All Barnsley did that day was pump it up to Moore - who to be fair, won virtually every ball against our 3 centre backs and caused havoc all afternoon - BUT, it means playing balls in the sky to him and looking for the 2nd ball. I doubt CW wants to play that way and although we signed Hanson for similar reasons, Hanson was an insurance policy for that season and there was no way he would be used in the Championship.

Not convinced CW wants to play that way

Yes, I saw that game and thought that he was surprisingly good on the deck too. Very much like Madine when he played well against us for Bolton.
I agree it would be disappointing if he was a big lad just to twat it to his head every time but I think he's potentially got more about him.
Worth the risk for 2 megapounds I think.

true he did play well that day - it's just the temptation to hit it long that gets me.

The 1st half v Inter, we seemed to whiz the ball about at great pace - wonder whether that may be how we could start games this season.

Only 5 sleeps until we find out :D

Keiffer Moore. are you having a laugh. May as well get hanson back

True but I would almost certainly have picked 'somebody nobody really expects' and he'd probably fit that description!

I personally think that teams like Cardiff and Barnsley target our back three with direct long balls as they stand off and let the striker have the freedom of the park
Hopefully egan will put a stop to this by Getting in front of his man physically and putting a stop to second rate target men looking like good players at our expense

Speaking of Our Sam, things have gone a bit quiet on that front. Last I heard regarding the Stoke bid was a week since now. Any idea if he might still be available?

I'd rather have Bradshaw from Barnsley
12 goals last season and people are foaming over Waghorn who got 4 more

Nice in theory but you can't take your ego into the negotiations, why would they sell if you knocked 1m off?
We were happy to pay x last week, that's still on the table. It's not a good idea to start playing the twat, you're just creating a lose/lose scenario.

Totally different players. We already have 2 players who are Bradshaw. What we haven’t got up top is a lefty (Done, Brooks)

I don’t like the notion that if we don’t get Waghorn we will just sign a player like Gallagher or Bradshaw because that’s not how wilder works. Neither of those players playing alongside whoever would improve how we play as a team

Stoke's interest doesn't seem serious and Alan Prixon did say we'd have news about a 'previous target' this week so I hope it's him.

As I read it, the situation is that Southampton want to sell, no one will pay £7m, Southampton are willing to loan, but the stupid contract they gave him is pricing clubs out, us being one of them, and they're putting finance ahead of his development.
