Or fightingUntil they started getting injured.
He contributed to that terrible team by his lack of effort, please don' t make excuses for him.If there’s any chance of getting Souza back we have to explore it … great player the previous season ….
Prem was hard to judge as he was in a terrible team where the wide players never did their job which meant he was constantly lulled from the middle area and left with too much ground to cover…
Absolutely this. Great DM at Championship level, but that’s all you get. Zero attacking or creative output. Could still fit in with the right type of player alongside him, but that’s something we currently don’t have.Have we ever signed a player who matched his stats so perfectly?
A monster of a defensive midfielder with virtually no progressive capacity whatsoever.
Maybe Tom Cannon? Basically a spectator who takes an occasional shot.
With someone as good as souza is as a dm it doesnt matter about his attacking or creativity. You can have hamer (or similar) more central in a free role with a proper box to box midfielder in supporting both.Absolutely this. Great DM at Championship level, but that’s all you get. Souza mopping up and protecting the defence & stopping counters, when hes got the ball all he needs to do is play it to harmer or the other midfield pairing.
It would also allow us to have various formations, 4231, 4213, 433, 4123, 4222, 352, 3412... all with souza anchoring the midfield & Hamer attacking centrally (free role/duffy role).
But we go down this route we would need to sign a good back up to souza/someone to challenge, as if hes off day or injured its pretty much integral part of the system down.
When did we start shitting money?!Walker Souttar Tanganga

Absolutely this. Nothing wrong with being purely a stopper as long as you have progressive players around you. With someone as good as souza is as a dm it doesnt matter about his attacking or creativity.
