I'm all for giving potential signings a chance. I didn't think signing James Beattie was a good idea, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt, and he turned out to be okay. Cresswell too might come good, and a brief substitute appearance is not enough time. Pericard however has had his time at Bramall Lane, and has been proved to be bobbins. Signing him would be totally futile, even as cover for the bloke who sweeps the car park. Yes, I know he was at Juventus, but he made the same number of league appearances for them as I have.

I don't think i've dressed the signing and trial up have I? In fact with Pericard I've just continually said that he's on trial and not signed. I think a few others have dressed this trial up as a signing.

Cresswell, I don't think i've commented have I...? But as we're on it. He was very affective in this div for Stoke. He's experienced at this level. He can play up front and on the wing. I'm not excited by his signing but neither am I seeing it as a disaster. Don't know the long term details of loan to permanent move, but I guess we'll see how he performs.

He's an ex pig and a pig fan, yet thats not stopped us signing players in the past...

despite trying to see the positives, the signing of cresswell, the trialling of pericard and the continued by passing of the midfield are too much, why sign harper and continue to launch the ball over his head, the sickening thing is we still have a good team who if allowed could play decent football. the last few days have been truly depressing, if we sign yet another over the hill never has been I give up!

Ive always said that Blackwell says one thing & does the exact opposite, from his tactics (anyone remember the 'Wingers & Balls into the box interview?) to our transfer strategy. (we will sign young & up & coming players) Its all very depressing.

I dont know if he's to blame, maybe he's having these signings forced on him but i just cant see it. but its HIS style of play. And if hes continually barking orders for the ball to be played on the ground & using width and the team arnt listening then Mccabe should get someone that the squad WILL take note off.
