That just means it isn't a certainty.

Any way, paying for 600 pints even after relegation.

He'll do for me. Get him in now.
How do they prove you’re a Rotherham fan?

Free pint from a future signing, Blades fans? 🤣🤣🤣

Yes a bazaar signing for sure.We had a defence suffering from shell shock ,
bring in a goalie who has hardly played any football all season and greeted with a 5-2 hammering o n his debut. No doubt we got that one wrong having said that
Don't think it would have made much difference with a world class goalie we just crumbled and any goalie brought in wouldn't have made any difference.
On reflection Foderingham apart from the goolies he dropped was making lots of good saves would he have kept out some of the goals we conceded ! No doubt in my mind he would.
Problem is we seem to have a real issue in thinking like a top flight club.

When Forest lost Henderson, who they were already paying a fortune for, they went out and loaned Keylar Navas.

We should have made the same call. Keeper is a unique position. Only one can ever play at once. A year older and still not in the PSG team, it would have been worth the call to see if he fancied the chance to make a difference.

For 6 months I bet we could have brokered a deal far more competitive than 2m plus whatever wages we just committed to on a 4 year contract for Athletico’s bench warmer.

Wilder’s Jan deals were not a complete failure.

Holgate has had a few decent games we would have said before he had 10 minutes to forget against Newcastle. He had a nightmare against Brighton but otherwise he’s been ok.

Brereton-Diaz has been very good. Harsh perhaps, but his finishing cost us somewhat against Brentford and Newcastle in games he could have turned the tide. But he has given some joy and if he decides to leave his parent club then quite a few bottom half teams may fancy him. Even a West Ham.

A fresh start in the keeping department won’t harm though and Johansson would seem to tick a few boxes from our side and from his.

He’d be a lot better if he tried. The number of times he just stops running and tracking a man is ridiculous, I’d suggest it’s attitude and not ability why he’ll never go on to fulfil his early potential. Seems happy to go through the motions and be an average player.

BBD seems to be a typical top end Championship striker who needs 4 chances to score a goal. You get them in the Championship, you get one or two in the PL and have to make them count. Good signing for us but absolute waste of money for the club given we were never staying up.

Kinell , wtf did we give a reserve keeper with no recent games a 4 year contract, are we feckin stupid ?

cant agree regarding holgate dont rate him and certainly dont want him back at the lane next season but really want us to sign johannsen he should be top of our shopping list

I’d like to think we could be more attractive than Stoke. No brainer for me wouldn’t have to move house, can afford him at a reasonable price, gerrim in fgs.

If we get outbid wage wise by stoke, we should just pack up and call it a day. Superior keeper to what we have now, and a solid base for progression in the goalkeeper department.. mind you, that’s a logical and progressive move, so it won’t happen.

well the rumour that we cant afford luke ayling at 12k a week is very worrying regarding johannsen hes the keeper i would like to see us bring in

Stoke owners wealth is well known.

We have a former bog roll factory owner like it's the 1970s

This is what is going to make a rebuild very tough as we are only going to get players no one else is looking at, need to find some gems like Fleck and Duffy and JOC that no one else wanted at the time..

You do know who own Stoke don't you ?
I think I have lost more money too them than the Prince actually has 😆

A decent keeper like this lad would be a huge lift to our chances of doing well next season. Dont underestimate the power of a decent keeper in settling through defence and allowing the whole team to relax more and better more confident. Likewise, when you have a keeper with more holes than a Tetley's tea bag behind you, as a defender you are going to panic the moment the ball goes past the half way line. Cloughie always had decent keepers in his side, and he knew a thing or two.

This lad would be ideal. Don't skimp on this one United. I've seen him myself numerous times and he is very good. What we need.

A decent keeper is a must as you say.
You can have 10 superstars on the pitch but if you have a shit GK you win fk all

Offload Brewster, reputedly on £36k per week, that'll free up 3 x £12k a week wages for new signings instantly. Johansson + 2 other players.

Throwing out there the Villa lad who has been doing bits at Exeter.

Cleaned up player of the year awards.

Viljami Sinisalo

I know it gets people too excited when you suggest stuff but putting it heee in case. Also Carl Rashford won PoTY for Swansea and also won’t get a game with his parent club.

I don’t understand where the discussion is really. I understand there different view points on who we should bring in, a young GK from Brighton or AV etc.

But there is a goalkeeper down the road who we all know is very good for £900k. This is the easiest decision we can ever make. He is 25 years old with experience and available 5 miles away. We are a much bigger team with more resources everything.

If he goes to Stoke or whatever then realistically we are done for. There’s no smoke without fire and he’s been listed as one for us for months by journalists from Sheffield and Rotherham.

It’s just an easy simple transaction for us.
