Some good comments there and I also thought our third (which I missed at the game) was offside.

Their keeper played a blinder, unlike long (sadly).

Worcester support was the best away support we've had for a while. Can't think of a league one side with away support like that.

Have to have a good bit of empathy for the die hard Worcester fans though Swiss mate as it sounds like a large percentage of those who came up to the game aren't usual fans and then somewhat ruined the day for everyone else.

Yeah it sounds like there were a few idiots, but we know all about that ourselves.

Days like this are always good though and if it means that they get a few new fans or fans coming back then it's a good thing (as long as they're not the idiots)

One thing I noticed though that at one point there were two aisles filled with stewards on the corner, as well as two blocks netted off and a line of riot coppers - just how much trouble were we expecting!?!

It did make me 'laugh' that SYPD said they were powerless to stop 30 or so youths with fireworks causing absolute carnage on Abbeydale Road because they just don't have the manpower yet they had a dozen officers in an empty stand for an hour and a half on Saturday (plus mounted police outside, officers blocking roads and asking "Are you a United fan?" before allowing access etc etc etc).

I asked a copper after the game and he told me it was due to intelligence. I thought ,youre not wrong.

Felt a bit sorry for the genuine Worcester supporters having to put up with the tag along idiots, there were Wolves and some Albion fans in the Standard pre game , all was well till the booze took hold and then then the atmosphere turned for the worse, Wolves were at home so you can draw your own conclusions as to why they were here, I would imagine that this was the "intelligence" the cop was referring to.

Reading this I just remembered that I saw a guy in a villa jacket at half time, seemed a bit odd

bit like me turning up for the atletico v real derby in a blades shirt
Foreign shirts I get (though as I teenager I wore a PSG shirt on John street west and got some funny looks), but other English sides is a bit strange

The latter is inexcusable. The former is still, in my opinion, at best very odd – at worst, disrespectful to the club you're supposed to be supporting. When I watched a few Vancouver Whitecaps games last season I saw the occasional Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man U shirts. It almost looked like they were reminding the Caps fans that there are teams out there that are better and with actual history to them. I'd never dream of wearing a United shirt when watching another team.

“We gave them far too much respect I think. Stood off nearly all game and just let them knock it around at ease."

Spot on. They made it easy for us. (Not that I'm complaining.)

Too much respect? I don't want to seem disrespectful, but... they were nowhere near us in terms of quality.

Yeah, there was a gulf between us. I just thought they'd be a bit more pumped up, aggressive & in-yer-face though. (Even so, we still lost three to injuries. Apart from everything else [& there's a lot else], we're having little or no luck this season.)

I thought our third was offside Swiss but having watched it back two or three times, one of their defenders played him on.

I think their defence was the big difference, played tight to our forwards and gave them no chance

Not many times we'll read that this season.

I was frustrated that we didnt show much of the qualities that served us well in our run last year, i expected us to as some of you say to be pumped up and hassling and harrying more and getting in the faces of your players, i know theyve got that in their lockers.

I just wish Geddes had been playing, not just for our sakes but i think as proper football fans you wouldve enjoyed seeing him, we wouldve retained the ball better for startoffs and he gets the other players buzzing around him, his knack of finding the spaces in between the defenders and the midfield is fantastic as is his eye for quick little through balls that have defenders off balance...we were just fairly one dimensional without him pulling the strings.

If you've never seen the clips then theyre worth a watch...

The Coventry game

The Scunny replay

Our equalizing goal was an absolute joy to behold :)

Was too busy pissing myself laughing at that goal..

Thought it was off, couldn't believe it when the scoreboard read three..

And yes it appears that the glory hunters ruined a good day for thier proper fans, I mean there aren't too many chances to grab a beer around the lane for an away fan, so to ruin it at half time takes a special kind of knob head..

Don't let it take credit from that team though, it could have been 1-1 and anybody's game when they broke and squared it across the box...

Good to see the proper supporters taking a stand against those out to cause mayhem. Football really needs to police itself (and I don't necessarily mean by confrontation), it's always a small number of knobheads who spoil it for the majority, the sooner they are gone from the game the better (not that I'm holding my breath!).
