View From West Brom

I asked my West Brom friend for his thoughts.
You scored, we huffed and puffed then ran out of ideas. I always said one goal would decide it.
He didn't reply to my comments about Gayle diving and Rodriguez' hand ball. I do get a bit cocky after a good win :)
 



Yet again they don’t get it.

Apart from the first 20 minutes that was actually one of our worse displays for a while.
We won mainly by showing massive commitment/ desire and brilliant defending. We normally have long spells of dominating the oppsitiin but in the 2nd half it was West Brom dominating us but nit looking like scoring.

Even Wilder said the performance wasn’t the greatest and we;ll need to work on a few things in the week.
To be fair it was a bit of a make shift side but I expect us to play better next week in the derby.
 
The last couple of weeks have seen us draw at Norwich, beat Middlesboro and beat West Brom

I occasionally have a look at the Championship forum and the fans of other clubs were praising Sheffield United a few weeks ago

I posted that our next few games include Swansea away, Villa away, Norwich away, West Brom away, Middlesboro at home, an unpredictable local derby against SWFC away and Leeds away.

I said if we come through that lot relatively unscathed we are going to take some serious stopping

Most fans agreed but felt that we'd come unstuck in this run of fixtures

Both of us have been out of the prem for a long time so there is little self entitlement amongst the fans.
Both teams are doing really well this season without huge budgets or para payments.
For once, Leeds fans seem to be much more grounded as opposed to the deluded post Revie era, where they were a reight set of knobs

Our home form is an embarrassment.
Why can we not win at home? Why can’t we build up a head of steam?

it was weird stat from sky during that 2nd half yesterday that In last 9 (or 10 now if you include last night) home games its played P10 W2 D6 L2. but last 9 away games its played P9 W8 D0 L1

Not how I’d want to win but each to their own

can you imagine being call cheats from a team that had a player banned for 2 games for proven diving, a guy who should've been sent off & guy that for the 2nd time in 2019 that tried to cheat away to scoring a goal

Gayle was embarrassing.
 
Jeez, someone's swallowed a bitter pill.

It must have really hurt to be taught a lesson in how to deflate another team. Some of their supporters really do take the biscuit though. Maybe they really have bought into the lie that they're the best tram in the Championship, a shame as it's clearly given them a sense of delusion that's on a par with the pigs.

We burst their balloon, and did so with a calm professionalism that should have impressed any neutral watching.
 
They said if they (WBA) don’t make automatic they would like to play us in the play offs.

Here’s a reality check Albion fan.....YOU WONT MAKE AUTOMATIC!!!!
 
A great Birthday present for me this morning. Sat in a cafe reading the forums and basking in a warm, cosy glow (and no, that has nothing to do with the Birthday BJ before anybody comments:)) Cheers Roy.

I can think of a few con acts from them. Rodriguez’s handball, where I personally thought he only signalled it hit his hand once he’d seen it had been immediately spotted. Gayle’s laughable attempt to manufacture a penalty off Stearman, and their left back going irate at a 50/50 which resulted in our free-kick after we’d won a race to the ball in the right channel 2nd half. Might have been Sharp & Gibbs. Whoever it was rolled around on the floor for a while and then shot up to his feet when he realised it was given the other way, remonstrating with the linesman as a result. What a bunch of moaning cheats.
 
Personally don't care if they think we're sh111te. 3 points are 3 points and we continue to chug along nicely.

I was sitting with the away fans - believe me, it was there in bucketloads - we were the worst time-wasting and diving team that they had seen all season.

The classic was when a guy had a go at me, almost coming to blows, saying that Freeman should have been booked for diving and time-wasting, when Gibbs nearly broke his ankle!

Their greatest dread is losing to Pulis in the playoffs - I now hope they do after the shit I had to take.
