People usually are face to face. Put them behind a keyboard...

The Baggies we spoke to in the pubs before the game we're all absolutely spot on and talked plenty of sense, including being very fair about us.

The more and more I read from these arsehole teams (no bigger than us) with a bit of cash. The more and more I tend to have empathy with Leeds.......... I know
I know what you mean.
Both of us have been out of the prem for a long time so there is little self entitlement amongst the fans.
Both teams are doing really well this season without huge budgets or para payments.
For once, Leeds fans seem to be much more grounded as opposed to the deluded post Revie era, where they were a reight set of knobs

"Got themselves in front after a mistake"

Did anyone else see this mistake where we played it out from the back, on the floor between 6 or 7 players, through midfield, up to their byline and cut it back for Dowell to head over the keeper into the corner of the net.... without any of their players getting anywhere near a touch on the ball!

Some mistake that was

What 'A' grade a tool he is.
Ha!
Their mistake was to allow one of our centre backs to run 75 yards from the edge of our pen area to dig out a cross on their by-line for Dowell to plant a perfect header over Johnstone.

Twats

We're so lucky,
Everyone has their off day against us.

It's also funny how our functional, well drilled, organised team can win away at their promotion rivals without getting out of first gear.

Cheers Roygbiv

Some very honest reviews from their fans. Many giving credit, but with a hint of bitterness, this one, whilst fairly mild is what I expected (though some are worse)

“We made a good well organised championship team look better than they are really but again not surprised. Just scratching my head. Fair play to Sheff Utd . They look much more like a team than we do. “

Back handed compliments the further you read down.

My view was that we played them very well, we knew what to expect and where they would come at us. So we matched them all over.

Phillips and Gale both looked dangerous all game. Holgate was left out wide, many of our fans calling for us to get tight when they broke, but as he was ploughing a lone furrow out there, keeping him in sight and 10-20 yards away, he was never going to cause a problem. When he did come inside as they attacked, Stevens was all over him. Gave him nothing.

We did seem to play much tighter than normal and we certainly didn’t push on for a 2nd. Happy to play the ball with class at times.

But, we were far from our best in terms of passing and I think this is a credit to WBA. They closed us quickly, we had some nice little midfield battles and we were trying to get Johnson into space. However, I thought Johnson was the only average player in a Blades shirt

McG played excellent, yes his decision making in the area was poor, but the way he and sharp led the line was excellent. They were up against it

Bringing Madine on was perfectly timed. Again, he didn’t have a free run of it, but he gives more physical presence, he’s playing a different way to McG and just as WBA we’re coming at us in waves because it wasn’t sticking up front for us, Madine wasn’t able to create some real issues for them. It gave Billy a lift too and they ran themselves through brick walls

Performance wise, it wasn’t a classic Blades domination and yes we rode our luck. But in terms of heart, fitness, determination, you just have to look at John flecks late run bashing through tackles and shrugging them off in what, the 92nd minute? Never a free kick and if he’d got through that tackle he’d have smashed the ball home from 30yards

It wasn’t must win or mustn’t lose. The feeling I had after this game though is that we’re chasing down Norwich and I wouldn’t bet against us.

Brilliant performance

Looking at various forums, most Leeds fans are very complimentary towards us
They are worried about us, they aren't looking forward to playing us and they are scared that we're going to ruin their season
I'm sure that will all change though in the week before the game

Love to see them n Leeds play out a draw on Friday.

Couple suspensions each be nice too.

“Still expect to finish comfortably above them, and would be more than happy to meet them in the play offs if we don’t make top 2.... diving, rolling around, gamesmanship and time wasting held us at bay....not how I’d want to win but each to their own.... Fleck’s a dirty little t**t too. “

“Even in defeat you can see that we have the better team”

“Thought Sheffield United were a dirty bitty side only interested in gamesmanship and time wasting. “

“Regards Sheffield United I thought they were a functional side nothing more, still expect to finish comfortably above them, and would be more than happy to meet them in the play offs if we don’t make top 2. They stuck to their game plan while Barry and Harper had their worst performances of the season. Got themselves in front after a mistake then through a combination of 11 behind the ball, diving, rolling around, gamesmanship and time wasting held us at bay. Not how I’d want to win but each to their own. Fleck’s a dirty little t**t too. “

Bahahahahahahahaha
Functional? Fucking functional? He should see us when we really get going.

Lovely stuff.

What I like about these things is even if they had been smashed by four or five some one eyed morons on the opposition forum are always going to claim they are the better side with better players and sure enough....

It’s amazing how the mind works. They’ve been in the Prem quite a bit over the last few years so feel that the championship is too low for them, but fail to really acknowledge that it’s tbe same club that got relegated from the Prem, thus wasn’t good enough for the division!

“Sheff Utd had a weakened and makeshift defence tonight and we haven’t laid a glove on them."

“I thought Sheffield United were a decent side, nothing special based on tonight.

“Players had very little passion today and sheffield united arent a particularly good side nor for a minute do i think they will go up but they wanted it more than us”

“I don’t actually know if Shef Utd are any good, as they didn’t need to be against us. All they had to do was work hard, press us when we had the ball knowing that we would eventually pass it to them. A solid, workmanlike performance which sees at least one team promoted every year, such as Hudds Town and Cardiff in recent years. “

“Sheff Utd are hard working but ain’t world beaters. “

“Regards Sheffield United I thought they were a functional side nothing more, still expect to finish comfortably above them, and would be more than happy to meet them in the play offs if we don’t make top 2."

“Even in defeat you can see that we have the better team”

'Decent'. 'Nothing special'. 'Aren't particularly good'. 'Ain't world beaters.' 'Functional'. 'Makeshift'.

We've been in the top six since August 25th. Lucky bloke, that Wilder.

“Thought Sheffield United were a dirty bitty side only interested in gamesmanship and time wasting....."

Does 'dirty' and 'bitty' not apply to Gibbs' over-the-top foul on Freeman? Rodriguez cheating handball into our goal? Gayle falling over (again) for no reason? Gayle's shot - saved by Henderson - where he was clearly offside but not flagged by the lino?

Cheer up, Baggies. It could be worse. Like living in that cess-pit called West Brom.

Cracking post, nail on the head.
