Overall though these comments reflect very well on the fans. Which is a pity bc I wanted to dislike them intensely after Byrne's am-drams and the children playing at hooligans at the end of the game.

from what i remember we had a few on here selected comments went along the lines of.. will score and then sit back, strange tactical decisions, has favourites within the squad.. sound familar??

I must admit I thought it was a reference to someone who smelled a bit i.e. ****......pong. I wonder if this is anything to do with a fishmonger as they smell.

I have heard the phrase "she was a right monger" ..... directed at a lady of less than attractive looks.

Interesting term. I will add it to my vocabulary.
