Mixed Emotions

We were meant to be playing Stoke today, but I fancied an ice cream instead. The double scoop Neapolitan was very tasty but the portion sizes were quite small.

Harry, Sheffield

No surprises with the view from of the minority of fans awful behaviour. Have a mate from stoke and he's capable of being a complete cock so no surprises at all. They're as bad as spurs fans bitterly hating arsenal above supporting their own team, similar to stoke fans hating port Vale.

On the game - we looked brilliant at times but we need to be more ruthless as have a feeling this seasons end will be close and goal difference may count massively. I understand the strategy to guard a comfortable (ish) lead but winning at home against bang average teams needs to turn into 3 or 4 goal margins at some stage.

We smashed them. They couldn’t deal with our edited shape. We controlled the game from minute 1. Their keeper made it a close game.

Across 105 gigs, only twice have I witnessed serious violence in the audience for Cardiacs, and both times it was in the area of Stoke: Keele University in 1988, and Hanley Sugarmill in 2007. Trentham Gardens in 1997 passed off without incident, but then they were supporting Hawkwind so love and peace abounded.

Normally, I just like to see how depressed opposition fans are after a loss to us. Instead, I'm just saddened by the behaviour of fans today. Those who were interrupting the silence for George, and then mocking Campbell about his dad, I wish would never enjoy the luxury of going to a football match again, whoever they support.

There's some really shitty people around.
TBF the noise during the minutes silence was fans on the concourse who wouldn’t have known, the fans in the stand were telling them to be quiet and were respectful.
Fans in the corner near John Street were having banter and a bit of fun during the game but I didn’t hear the vile Campbell chant from that lot.

Not sure it was just people on the concourse to be honest. And it'd be a lot better if any background noise is ignored. Shouting "shut up you cunts" so the whole ground can hear is just as disrespectful.

To be honest from the back of the Kop seemed to be the quietest away fans, given their numbers, I can remember, and the minutes silence for George seemed perfectly respected.

“They didn’t even play like a top 6 side and still outplayed us by a margin…That is how bad it is,we can’t hold the ball enough and create chances, majority of the time we get it barely passing the half before loosing it.The fact is, that oppositiins get 15 to 20 shots each game!”

🙃 go back to school

What with the chants and the abuse of Campbell you have to think they are sub human from around Stoke, neither clubs around those parts are nice to visit. Surely there are a few decent fans from Stoke ............... isn't there?
Must be something in the water there. The thickest fans I've ever encountered were from Port Vale.

Cheers Roy. Having to live in Stoke should be penance enough for any of the scummier elements of their support. I can only imagine that it's just the minority as always though.
You could only have picked one song for this one, so well played sir.

That was the "Spirit of the Age"😜🙏

I was surprised Campbell’s celebrations were so jubilant, after reading that, now I know why. Wankers.

My perspective is that we won at a canter. It was comfortable. I’d have loved us to have kept the foot on the gas and scored 3 or 4 but yesterday’s outing was accomplished and professional. I like 2-0 wins.

Also, our GK is better than yours.

Cheers Roy👍
I agree with most of the Stoke fans here, we beat them fair n square, and a lot of their fanbase are fucking scumbags.
So glad Campbell bagged against them today too, after the cunts were chanting about the sad death of his dad!

RIP GEORGE AND CAMPBELL SNR!!!
UTB!!

I sit in the John street stand towards the away fans and never heard the where’s your daddy gone chants so can’t have been many singing it.
The Sheffield’s a shit hole I want to go home chant made me smile considering where home is. 😂
Cheers as ever Roy great work. I always enjoy these after a win.

I didn’t see much difference between the two sides tbf apart from their fluke 1st goal and Gibson falling over for their 2nd. We missed better chances than both – Phillips twice and Koumas. Soutar and Souza were decent for them but thats about it

🤣🤣🤣🤣Which game did this idiot watch!

Cheers Roygbiv
I think his name is Stevie Wonder

They were carrying on in the Benjamin Huntsman pre match. They came downstairs causing aggro on their way out.. One of the scroats got grabbed by a Blade and shit himself.
There's definitely something in the water there.
Yes i agree Vale fans to are arseholes ,must be as you say something in the water

Aren't we a bit like that with regards to Wednesday ?

Not getting into the slagging off of Stoke fans and Stoke in general most football clubs have these kind of people and most places have certain less desirable areas including our club and City, I mean S6 is a right dump. 😆
What i will say is Stoke as a team were poor probably the worst side I have seen United play this season, although Portsmouth were really bad on Friday night. So if i was a Stoke fan I would be really worried about this season.

Just listened to Enda’s interview for Stoke. He said the game was decided in moments rather than quality and that they cut through us when they passed the ball. The interviewer then asked him what it’s like “to play with the intensity that the new manager demands”.

I’m afraid they created two chances, one from a set piece and one from a speculative high ball. And their intensity was a long way short of the mark.

No doubt they’ll play better, and they were always the underdogs against a team just out of the prem. But that sort of spin would trouble me if were a Stokie.

I'll keep it quick and positive for George and the lads..
But could we get the CCTV out SYP and ban the absolute scum that aimed the abuse at Campbell. Of all days to do it as well.
