“Can’t afford square pegs in round holes against teams with the quality we witnessed tonight.”
must have done some things right then

Cheers Roy,

Henry the hoof poked his head through the barn door eh?

“With the players they have at their disposal, bypassing a midfield that has that much quality is criminal"

All pretty fair comments, and they noticed we were hoofing it.

And, as always, Thanks.

shame we arent in the championship , its full of really shit sides this season rotherham have been dog shit but still have 3 under them
Blackpool tonight awful brentford 42 shots at goal , whipping boys matched by failing wigan

The hoofing was mixed with some good passing at the start, and had more of an aim, but it got worse as the game went on.

Some were, but whenever team suffers a questionable loss to us their first thoughts are money spent and size of their club being smaller than us.
To be fair it's a reasonable defence, and a way to argue against any negativity from their fans.

Definitely is, just an overused defence. I was appreciative to those who gave credit where due and it was a decent night!

“Well done for beating the smallest team in L1 and doing the double on us, bet you’re so proud.”

What the fuck kind of comment is that all about? It strikes me of some 15 year old spotty little cunt who expects us to rock up and allow them to roll us over, just because they are 'ickle Rochdale and we bought their fucking stadium.

Just for that comment alone, I am fucking glad we bummed them tonight without any real merit toward our play.

Ha, ha and thrice ha, you mardy arsed little shit.

We spent their season's budget on a RB? since when were their budget nearly 2 million?

Yes, it's a bit difficult to see what more we could have done. The treble wasn't really on....

Next season I think we should just accept that it's unfair for us to play such a small club, and forfeit the 6 points.

Like Rochdale and have no axe to grind with their fans. Think its a bit rich when some of our lot start dishing abuse out on threads like this. They are a fraction of our size and I an guessing that they are just pleased to be in this league having spent years in division 4.

Feel for clubs like them when they have both Manchester clubs on their doorstep.

I find it hard to criticise fans of a team that has been promoted 3 times in its entire history, is currently in only its eighth season outside the bottom division, and is situated within 10 to 20 miles of numerous teams with better stadiums, histories and current league positions. Good luck to them.

(although they've been in a sodding cup final more recently than us!)

We didn't play hoof ball at all.

We played the right ball at the right time which included some long stuff on occasions.

We had primarily a defensive team (similar to Bristol) and we won the game 2-1 as we did another "job" on them.

The 2 goals we scored had NOTHING long ball about it - both of them.

In the end what we had we hold mentality - and it WAS a steely mentality. Nothing pretty last night - just solid.

WE ARE NO LONGER PUSH OVERS AWAY FROM HOME, and our fans should be happy about that.

We can now MIX it when required and we have a mental toughness too.

Rochdale can go and fuck themselves - nobheads.

3 points, we move to Crawley when it will be more of the same.

Abselutly, credit to them it's their best season ever.

I noticed even Millwall managed to lose 0-3 at home to a bunch of no-hopers. Shit division and nothing for us to fear next season.

It wasn't a million years ago that some fans were complaining that the ball went sideways and back and bemoaning more direct play. I wasn't at the match yesterday and stand to be corrected by those who were, but if the Blades were able to mix it up, and away from home use long passes (hoofs) in order to grind out the points in this league, then good. It's up to the opposition to do something about it if it's just average.

As for our fans complaining we will have to wait and see.

For me we used to have a soft underbelly - last night we had 4 grafters in midfield - Flynn, Doyle, Basham and Coutts. Murph did his fair share too and it only left Mcnuts up front. His goal looked supreme and from the angle he was at and how he must have opened up his body, I reckon it is one of "our" contenders for goal of the season. Cant wait to se it from the TV angle - just hope the TV was in their main stand.

We were not pretty but it was no where near long ball. They pushed on, being at home and at times Harris put balls down the left channel for Murph/Done to run into - perhaps that was the perception of long ball - for me it was more of an out let and channel football.

What I did notice is we played a pressing game - as they brought it out at least one of our players pressed the man with the ball and a few times the team forced R'dale to play it back to the goal keeper, bringing applause from our fans. So, far from hoof ball - we were just solid and did a job on them.

One thing is for sure - if any of our fans criticise our performance (and they DID NOT GO last night) then they should think twice before commenting. We simply did a job, got 3 points, played reasonably well without being spectacular, against a difficult and tricky opponent on their own patch.

JOB DONE as they say - we move on. Their pitch was excellent btw.

My MOM - young Kennedy - strong, resilient, no nonsense - up and at em type - Morgan must be having an influence. We need to stand him in a box of peat with some "gro more" in it - the kid could do with a few more inches.

Someone behind me said their pitch was similar to a desso one? Considering they have rugby league on it aswell it did look in superb condition

Though I always read Roy's page and appreciate his efforts in this area, I pay little heed to what is said. Football fans are the same the world over. Some intelligent, some thick, some fair, some biased, some quite insane!
We won and I really don't care how some see how we did, its 3 points and fuck everyone else.

Yeah, but this 'boo-hoo, y did u beet uz you horid bastids' shit is beyond the limit. Rochdale isn't a pariah club or city. They are there for the taking and yes, if we win dirty, then so be it. How many times have we had teams come to BDTBL and wipe their arses with us and we have had to admit we are shitola?

Suck it up buttercup Rochdale fans
