First league win at home to Oldham in 20 years.
And because of injuries and suspensions we had to play a makeshift defence for the following match at Walsall in midweek, which we also lost. If we hadn't thrown away the two goal lead against Oldham I am convinced that we would have gone up.If only it were in 11/12 when we were 2-0 up.

It was a poor ref as well. I think Lowton was sent off supposedly for kicking the ball away. Was that the game Kuqi scored the winner in the 90th minute? When that happened I kinda knew we would regret that at a later day.

I think some blades and Oldham fansTheir fans were outstanding today...... Their team absolutely awful...... Sound familiar?
I think it was Maguire who was sent off and missed the midweek Walsall game, which we also lost 2-3. Might be wrong - both Lowton & Maguire were missing for the Walsall game.
Still, no worries. Wendy were miles behind and Ched was in cracking form. What could possibly go wrong?
Both sent off, seem to remember Lowton's two bookings were both for stupid things he should have known better than to do, Wasn't Harry's for a 'professional' foul when he'd probably have been better off letting his man go on. Think that was the game when LJF got injured as well, so 3/4 of the defense missed the next (two?) game(s).
Wasn't Collins missing due to personal reasons ,with Lowton and Maguire suspended. We got Matt HillYes, we drafted in John Egan from Sunderland to cover, an 18 year old with one league appearance to his name.
Wasn't Collins missing due to personal reasons ,with Lowton and Maguire suspended. We got Matt Hilland John Egan in at centre back ,I think Andy Taylor was our only regular defender and I think Ertl played at right back. I know Ched scored to equalise and the bogs to 2 inches deep in piss ,and the curry in Tamworth on the way home was very good.
Just think, if that never happened we'd never have signed Matt '5 foot nowt but somehow wins every header' HillAnd because of injuries and suspensions we had to play a makeshift defence for the following match at Walsall in midweek, which we also lost. I think some blades and Oldham fans
are not giving United credit for a good performance.
Oldham came into the game on the back of a 7 match unbeaten run with an away record 2nd only to Walsall on away defeats ( just 2 amazing for a team in there position) so they are one of the form teams in the division
playing with confidence away from home.
That was as good as we have played all season and to say Oldham were poor is due to the fact we played well
and had all the answers.
Nice to see some players find a bit of form and in Baptiste we have a real
defender and leader, just hope we can keep him rest of season.Hes definitely one I would try to sign for next season, championship or div 1.
You missed out' and heads it straight to an attacker in a goalscoring position.'Just think, if that never happened we'd never have signed Matt '5 foot nowt but somehow wins every header' Hill
