An interesting read, from fans who did themselves proud, with a team that almost ruined our New Year. If any of them are still looking on here, I would suggest they have a word with the banner-makers who draped a big banner over the front of the stand a few minutes before kick-off; best not to write in invisible ink if you want to get your message across (or have they left it hanging there, with a message that will magically appear next match ?)

Thanks Roy, my favourite read, although this season has been a better read than previous seasons. Happy new year.
 
Some savage indictments on Rob Pages performance as manager.
They could have easily lost their league status two seasons ago, even their very existence was in question.

They get a manager who not only turns them around but pisses the league with them, then they lose that manager in June thereby needing a new manager to come in, familiarise with the squad and prepare for what could easily be a dogfight.

15th is no disgrace considering the obstacles that they've had to overcome.

There's a ridiculously warped sense of entitlement with modern football fans (see Leicester fans wanting Ranieri out) and it boils my piss quite frankly.

I have to say, Northampton were set up well and were big, strong and fast, typical League One style. Looked like 0-0, but the Blades again were the Battling Blades and as Neil Warnock used to say "the thing about my lads is they never know when they are beaten", and the last 5-10 minutes was a constant battle in their box.

Kieron Freeman was right place, right time, just like at Gillingham and Chesterfield, well done lad.
 



We're making a habit of these late winners again just like we have done in past successful seasons

When you're not firing on all cylinders
you have to find a way through somehow

We need some new blood though to freshen things up because there are signs of fatigue creeping into our play

We should be full of confidence and expression at the moment but everything is a little laboured

I thought Northampton, especially in the first half, were on their game, played well and were a yard quicker than us all over the park. Second half they seemed to get more and more defensive, although at 0-0 they were always in with a chance of nicking one (and would have apart from Moores' excellent save from the free-kick).

Thankfully we've started doing what promotion teams do and grind out the points even when not playing well.
