Don't get all this ref giving us the game malarky. 1st pen was debatable but we missed anyway and the 2nd pen was nailed on. There were also occasions when the ref could've played on for us when we had the ball but he'd bring it back breaking up our attacking play. Then there's a guy saying we were there for the taking? Sorry but we bossed that game and they were lucky to be level never mind going in front.

I was taken aback by the comments. Not the content it was the length of the comments. Expected one liners full of expletives.
 
First pen, matter of opinion, I didn't expect it, but obviously shook out alright for them with the save, which for most teams would be a kick up the arse and spur them on.

Second, Duffy will be on to PI Helpline for a whiplash claim. Can't complain about that, and to be fair, their other defenders didn't.

Other than being a bit card happy early on, I can't say I noticed the ref to be honest.

A shocking lack of vitriol, obviously they're a bit downtrodden at the moment but think there are worse teams, they've got some decent players and spirit.

The main problem with this post is that it differentiates between ethnic and English.

It is reasonable to want to protect national identity, but not by exhibiting prejudice against current national ethnicity.

Another problem is the assumption that “English” people are somehow non-“ethnic”, ie Englishness is not an ethnicity.
