Spoke to a few Man Utd fans yesterday, The real, local ones.
And I have to say they were all decent folk actually. I sympathised with them for not winning much silverware in the past three years and maybe struggling to make 6th in the Premiership, then they sympathised with us for not winning fuck all in 90 years and being in the third division for the past 5.

PS My first thoughts on the comments before the game was, wouldn't it be good to be reading a View From Spurs, Southampton, Man Utd every week.

Wow did they really expect us to go gung ho from minute one ?. Defending from the off and frustrating them was the obvious thing to do, then maybe try to get at them the last 10/15, but when it gets to that amount of time left, your thinking replay, difficult.

Some of the comments made me chuckle

Mainly the ones saying they were awful but still "dominated" us. If one meaningful shot on target (from a penalty) qualifies as dominating the opposition then fine. Keep telling yourselves that.

Also saying that we "didn't go for it" and "never tried to win the game" .....tell you what chaps, next time we play your team assembled at 100 times the cost of ours we'll play everyone in your half and leave the backdoor nice and open for you.

It's a lot easier to do too. When played Yeovil last season it took me ages just to get a few comments whereas Man Utd have about 500 forums

I got separated and lost (derr )on the way back to the car after and asked some for help ,ended walking and chatting , they were sound and full of praise for us actually. Called us a proper club ,I didn't say owt back to that

Just back from watching HB Jnr play and my best mate at junior football is a Manure fan. His perspective was that they played poorly, given that they are a Premiership side, that we played well given we are Division Three and he could barely bring himself to be pleased and certainly not proud when they got their goal.
