Roy's View From... View From Man City

Cheers Roy.

Most view froms have been quite complimentary from the big 6 this season (win, lose or draw). Man City seem to be the exception.

We shall have to change our ways. Don't want to let them down again.

I'd still have been annoyed. Straight through their man, no attempt to play the ball, and of course he was just back from injury, which won't affect the ref's decision but makes it seem worse.

Reminded me of Madine's sending off last season.
On TV it looked like he did make an attempt, he only missed it marginally, he led with one leg and his foot looked down. The only thing you could say was that he used excessive force and wasn’t in control. It was reviewed by VAR and they didn’t think it was a red either.
Stupid challenge but not a red.

Remember 90% of these "fans" supported Chelsea until 4 years ago and before that were Man United fans. True fans see the game and actually can see City had to work very hard to break us down.

Last three matches.....

'You're not West Ham / Arsenal / Man City (delete where appropriate) anymore'.

Must admit hate being compared to Stoke. Wilder, his team and the players deserve better than that.

BTW Manchester is a dump and totally overrated. Cannot stand the media love-in there is for that city.

I’m not sure who the commentator was but he seemed to be complimentary in a very condescending way.

It was Paul Dempsey, who I most associate with boxing, though I'm sure I've also heard him do football when I've had streams from RTE.

They're all like it now, though. As we all know, and NT20 Blade said it just before, there'll be a backlash sooner or later. Some other team will be the pet next year (it was Wolves last season). If Leeds do manage not to do a Leeds, it's guaranteed to be them.

Obviously this lot are all too young to remember Francis Lee and Mike Summerbee. They didn't complain about physical contact from those two; if they were around today the Prem would insist on 'em being fitted out with boxing gloves and opposition players issued with batsmens' helmets. Effing pussies......

Noticed there was a lot of hate toward the ref from them on their board last night and was a bit bemused when they seemed to think he was our 12th man when he was anything but.

But then again i remembered the reverse fixture so I suppose having gotten used to a ref who effectively plays them on for their goals and takes put our players for them, Mason must have seemed so unfair. Mardy twats.

Liked the kop chanting nice to know youre fuckin here after they scored.

Blimey, I always thought they were alright fans as well.

The self entitlement is astonishing.

The one referencing Norwich was weird.

Cheers Roy. Good to see the hatred for us has returned!!🤣🤣⚔️⚔️.
What a bunch of self obsessed fuckwits!!.
Where were they before the oligarchs money started rolling in?🤔😂😂. UTB ⚔️⚔️⚔️

We can out football many sides in this league, but we can't outplay the likes of Man City.

If we tried to press them to death, and play our usual game, we would probably have lost by three or four.

I'm sure if we'd passed it round the back, trying to be trendy and gifted them a couple like Villa did they'd be much more complementary.

If i take my "rose tinted" glasses off i can see where they are coming from, we were physical, not a lot of creativity, but what do you do when you face a team costing millions against our team that cost a few million in comparison - you have to "find a way" and that is what we did last night without resorting to "leg breaking" tackles.

Brilliant. Some real vitriol.

City fans are so angry about everything right now. They just can't accept they aren't going to win the league. As someone posted earlier, presumably most of those are from the newly-arrived youngsters who aren't used to losing...even though they didn't lose...

In fairness I thought the Besic challenge was really bad at the time and Fleck's booking was pretty poor too. Besic's looked better on the replay but it was very late and unnecessary. Last ten or fifteen minutes was us playing hit and hope.

I don't really blame us. Man City are that good that we couldn't get any kind of real passing going for most of the game and if there's a choice between falling on your own sword or giving yourself a chance to stop Man City then I'll take last night's effort every time.

Not that surprised by their reaction to the game except for the fact we played much better against them only a few weeks ago, and if they'd watched any more of us they'd know last night was not plan A. We've had to do it at times (Everton away, holding on against Arsenal at home) but that's where we are as a newly promoted side. We can't always dominate matches and play keep ball. We're going to have to grind sometimes. If anything it's a testament to how rounded we are that we can make it a scrap if we have to.

Their 'support' was absolutely fucking woeful last night (exactly like it was at the Etihad).

I remember when they came down from the premier league the first time they used to pack the away end and make a right racket. They really have sold their souls for the money and while the trophies might make up for it their support has died a death in the last 20 years.

To be fair I'd have been furious at Besic not getting a red if the roles were reversed.

Well that doesn't quite make sense but you know what I mean.

Never a red. Stayed on the ground and close enough to the ball to make it look like a genuine attempt (I'm sure it wasn't!)

We obviously got stuck in, but they had to too. De Bruyne, as good as he is, was shit-housing with the best of 'em last night.

Seem absolutely desperate for a rivalry or someone to dislike them, seeing as the team they share their city with see their closest rivals as Liverpool.

“Hard fought win against a load of clogging wankers.Remember why I prefer wednesday now” - Spot the pig.
That one's hilarious. Probably my favourite for its petulant bitterness. Clearly hasn't had to watch Wednesday play recently

I'm not sure what comments people expected, 95% of City fans have become deluded entitled wankers since they got the oil money

Wowzers 😂😂😂

Thats much better, horrible club. manager, players and fans...great. They don't like it up 'em Capt Mannering

Cheers Roy, mainly a set of entitled wankers. I've only ever known one city fan and he was a wanker too. Glad we riled them up.

Worth bearing in mind that The Etihad is like an industrial sized theme park. You are greeted by teeny bopper bands on a stage presented by one of those cloned bellend DJs. You half expect to walk round the corder and find a fucking great ball pool and a creche. The football is almost incidental to the day out, and it usually consists of £100m teams unsurprisingly failing to get close to one assembled for £1bn played out infront of silent day-trippers.
If that's your usual footy experience you can imagine the little lambs' horror at a proper stadium, a crackling atmosphere and opponents who don't roll over and have their bellies tickled.

Whatever happens, whatever league we find ourselves in, I hope we never, ever become like West Ham, Arsenal, City and Spurs. We keep our ground, we keep our identity, we keep it real.
