Sorry, your comment doesn’t make sense, once they had 1 they didn’t need to push for a second"Manner of the goal was harsh on Sheffield United but I’m confident that if he had stopped that we still would have ground out a win"
Even though you didn't score a 2nd goal? How does that work then? Plank.
“Joe Elliott, Sean Bean, Colin Wanker, Michael Palin, Dave Bassett, Joe Root, can you hear me, can you hear me, your boys took a hell of a beating, your boys took a hell of a beating!”
One nil is hardly a hell of a beating, you fucking idiot.
I find that comment quite staggering considering who and where Liverpool are - how many times during their last 16 games have Liverpool taken the attitude "1 goal is enough lads, let's not risk missing out on the chance of grabbing 3 points here by going for 2 or more goals"?Sorry, your comment doesn’t make sense, once they had 1 they didn’t need to push for a second
Not time wasting on our part. All part of the plan. Slow the game down. Get yourself a breather. Don’t let Liverpool create a head of steam. If they have 70% possession and we are keeping our shape and closing the space then we need some time to breathe. This was actually raised by my Liverpool mate on the journey back from the game. I didn’t think we’d done much of it, but he took exception in particular to:
- Henderson with most goal kicks (he was annoyed that Adrian in contrast was singled out for the same)
- O’Connell kicking the ball away to delay a free kick (think he was booked for this)
- our ball boys reluctance to hand the ball back and “hardly a coincidence that there were some areas of the pitch where there weren’t any”.
While not noticing this at the time, on reflection I think that’s probably fair enough. It’s the sort of thing that you probably don’t notice as much if it’s your team doing it, but when it’s the opposition any instance colours your perceptions.
Also don't know what time wasting we did? Their 'keeper Adrian got a yellow for doing exactly that!![]()

Jeez...........
Which is why their keeper got carded for time wasting. Do you think that would’ve happened at 0-0? No, of course not, they were happy to see the game outI find that comment quite staggering considering who and where Liverpool are - how many times during their last 16 games have Liverpool taken the attitude "1 goal is enough lads, let's not risk missing out on the chance of grabbing 3 points here by going for 2 or more goals"?

“Hardest 3 points we've got so far this season” “we’ve been in a game here today.”“Great performance from Sheffield United. I didn't expect that” “Even as a Liverpool fan I can say harsh result for Sheffield United. If they keep up that style they will gave A LOT of the “top 6” some scary days.”“Notroysviewfrom.com
No, I agree with Copenhagen. If Hendo hadn’t have conceded I’d have expected them to try harder to break us down and it’s very possible that they may still have scored. You can’t say for certain but it’s very possible, same as when we were in L1, if we were 0-0 with ten to go, I still expected us to score and win the game.So - help me out here please:
You take a bit of a pop at a fellow Blade for challenging a Liverpool fan's assertion that they would have scored a winning goal anyhow, even if Deano had fielded that shot, by saying his comment didn't make sense because Liverpool didn't need to press for a 2nd or any more goals. I make the point that it's hardly in the nature of them (arguably the best team on the planet) to sit back to protect what they had to try to guarantee 3 points. Finally you emphasise that their keeper resorted to time-wasting, and they were happy to see the game out. The obvious point here is that Liverpool were in no position to do what they had done to most other teams over the last 15 games, and the Blades fan was right to challenge the arrogance of the Liverpool fan, and you were wrong to say his comment didn't make sense - of course it did!
Of course you're entitled to agree with his view of Liverpool's need to waste time and not push for another goal, but when a fan says to a fellow fan - "Sorry - your comment doesn't make sense" I think I'm entitled to suggest he is having a "bit of a pop" at him.No, I agree with Copenhagen. I don’t think he was ‘having a pop’ by disagreeing with him, same as I’m not having a pop at you by disagreeing.
Sorry, but I wasn’t having a pop at him. To me, his comment didn’t make sense. It was an opinion. I wasn’t rude or offensive. But if you’ve taken offence then there’s not a lot I can do about it. OK - you weren't having a pop, but I think most would agree that the phrase "Sorry - your comment doesn't make sense" is a tad condescending. Life goes on, and people on social media will make comments they maybe would not say face to face.Sorry, but I wasn’t having a pop at him. To me, his comment didn’t make sense. It was an opinion. That’s Adrian Durham level of taking things out of all proportion. If he’d said ‘you’re talking shit’ you’d have a point but ‘your comment doesn’t make sense’ isn’t anything like that.Of course you're entitled to agree with his view of Liverpool's need to waste time and not push for another goal, but when a fan says to a fellow fan - "Sorry - your comment doesn't make sense" I think I'm entitled to suggest he is having a "bit of a pop" at him.
At least we can agree - it was a nothing comment; usually best not made!you’re the one digging out a fellow fan over a nothing comment
