I'm not sure what your 'template' might be?

Wolves used EPL parachute payments to keep some Premier players and buy the best from this division.
Wendy bought a load of big players and kicked their way out.
Leeds went into administration and were here for 3 years. Bates took over and put prices up.
Forest also took 3 years and several managers
Southampton had 2 years, an admisitration, Adkins and a massive cash injection from new owners
Norwich had one season.
Wigan - see Wolves.

So what is your answere to how a 'big club gets out of this league'?

I think Harry's Game has nailed it

Cheers Roy.

Them winning at the lane is probably a first, we've broke some unwanted records this last six years. :(

I doubt Wolves or Leeds were messing around like that.

No, Leeds just went into adminsitration, Bates took over and they charged the highest prices outside the Premier. They were here for 3 years.

Wolves still had parachute payments.

I'd like to congratulate Fleetwood for what they have achieved, not just last night and this season but as a whole over the past few years. What a story.

They were the best team to come to the lane this season IMO. Having said that, we were poor and didn't give them the game that they deserved.

As they did at their ground earlier in the season, they played a very fast paced counter attacking game. Similar in style to Nigel Clough's first season at BDTBL, I think this is one of the reasons that they are winning so many games. In all honesty, had it not been for 2 (maybe 3) great saves from Moore, it would've been 4 or even 5-0.

They would be a definitive dark horse for a late surge for the top 2. And, heaven forbid we end up in the play offs, I wouldn't like to meet them in a one off game at Wembley with the style that they play.

Your just a shit Blackpool....

'You're just a tram stop in Blackpool' was the chant from us a couple of seasons ago :)

In all fairness, they're catching Blackpool up, already passed them in the League, have a better ground / facilities, better youth system, more ambitious chairman, and even bigger crowds. It's only Blackpool's better ground and potential that is keeping them ahead at the moment.

But the model is unsustainable. After a brief joyous flirtation with the upper echelon, they'll inevitably soon be back at the level of similar sized clubs like Yeovil and Stevenage.

They worked hard for their win. Quickly packed the defense so it looked like they had 15 men out there. They broke quickly and took their chances when they came along.
A good away performance. Reminded me of when we won at Fratton Park during Pompey's promotion season to the Prem. The Pompey supporters were in similar meltdown after that game.

Embarrassing, hope the Board and players read those comments because if they don't give you a kick up the a**e nothing will.

True, and no-one knows how much Pilley is pumping in now to keep them at this level. Scary to think they could conceivably be in the Chumpionship though.

Nobody does know except Pilley himself, and they could very well end up going up. But given the spending up there now, will even he have enough, or will it be like when Barnsley got into the Prem, and soon found out they were hopelessly out of their depth?

I'll answer that one..

.... outspend the competition by proportionately large sums and don't sell your best players every season.

When we are haggling with a Bradford City clogger for 24hrs over pennys it tells a tale.

I doubt Wolves or Leeds were messing around like that.

Can we all just give James Hanson a chance for a few games before we write him off as a "clogger"?

Sometimes you need brute strength in league 1, maybe only for the first, or last 20 minutes, but it can be needed.

And at the end of the day, if he turns out to be a clogger, he is "our clogger", in our team colours, doing a dirty job that needs doing.

“From conference north to the verge of the championship in ten years just shows what a bit of ambition and backing can do”

From The Premier League to approaching seven years in League one just shows what a lack of ambition and lack of backing can do.

You do have a point there. I wonder if the board ever figured it out though.

Well done Fleetwood Town and their supporters.

So what if they only brought 133?
Fleetwood hasn't got a population the size of Sheffield and the outlying districts.
Give credit. Accept defeat. Accept victory. Be gracious.

They'll be a time in the future when other clubs will look upon us as some on here look upon clubs with less numbers and not our financial means.
