"Must surely have been the biggest league game in our history, Sheffield United at Highbury in a league One match bloody hell!!!! "

"if ever a fixture demonstrated how far we have come as a club it is this one."

"Thoroughly deserved point eventually against one of the big teams in this league. I just wish we had more belief and stopped all this passing backwards it does my frigging head in!!! We will eventually pay for that tactic by conceding a vital goal and I just wish we'd stop doing it. Still an excellent point after a stirring 2nd half performance and with a bit more composure and luck we could have grabbed all 3. Finally no wonder Andre Mariner has been demoted from the premier keague, he was very poor today imho"

"Too much football played at times when we could be a bit more direct."

"Overall a good performance, especially in the second half. A fair result and a 4000+ crowd was also a bonus."

"the attendance, very good indeed although it could've been more had we given Sheffield a bigger allocation I guess"

"They sent 50 tickets back. Bradford on Boxing Day should top todays attendance."

"Great effort second half, impressed with Hughes and Proctor up top second half and well done Sarcevic, quality header and his best performance of the season.Another point towards safety."

"Imo this is the biggest name we have ever played against since joining the football league some 3 years ago.I can remember seeing a certain George Best scoring against the Blades in the late 60's early 70's, a goal which has been seen many many times on MOTD."

"I remember (watching Man Utd) their rivals across the City -The Owls, its not that long ago -early 90's that they were a real bogey team of Man Utd and got turned over a few times over the years, now they are light years away in every respect"

"Two names stand out to me (regarding The Blades) Tony Currie and a keeper Alan Hodgkinson"

"I feared for us in first 15mins mate but full credit for 2nd half performance. Would of took draw b4 game so can't complain"

"great performance from everyone on and off the field. Thought we could have nicked it near the end!"

"Blades fans started chanting "we're shit and we know we are. " "

"A great day today"

"Have to say what a brilliant bunch the SUFC_fans were to deal with. Great banter and courteous to all the staff"

"poor 1st half performance. Better 2nd half. No surprise goal came as result of quick passing out wide. Hard earned point."

"So chuffed we managed to take a point from Sheff Utd today"

"Fleetwood were really good today and deserved all 3 points. Superb effort and endeavour from all"

"Excellent result"

"Well done lads I arrived at Highbury hoping for a draw and left disappointed with a draw Town were the better team and deserved 2 win"

"Great game today at highbury. Credit to both sides. "

" Happy with a draw :) YESSSSSS"

This just about sums it up don't think it can get any worse.
Even the most hardcore Blades must admit we are going fuckin nowhere at the moment.
Listening to it on the radio we should have buried them first half but we let them off the hook Fleetwood fuckin Fleetwood FFS
I thought Wallsall to go down to the 4th was bad but were rotting in this league

Being Patronised by fans of Fleetwood Town..

cheers Kevin McCabe.

Thought the views from the Fleetwood fans were far from patronizing to be honest.

I do agree that this is all McCabe's fault though. Horrible weasel of a man, and still there are buffoons out there who think he's Mr Blade.

Who's to blame Fulwood, Harry Haslam:rolleyes:

The funniest thing on RS today was the banner that professed "The Cod Ultras" - heard it all now. Who are they - 2 kids and a fisherman.

Thing about it they've took a point off and they could have took all three
Not that funny

Don't have a problem with them getting a point - we didn't finish them off by half time - our fault completely.

As for Fleetwood, read Cheltenham a few years ago.

They had 4K in the ground, 1.2K from the Blades - unless the chairman has ultra deep pockets, and to be fair he has been very good to get them this far, I very much doubt they will stay where they are. Nothing at all personal, just a matter of statistics and where they actually are in the country.

Don't know how old you are but I actually remember Harry Haslam and HE predicted the Premier league, many years before it actually happened. He was a decent footballing man, just another wrong decision. We unfortunately fell into another trap of trying to bring in a manager who was successful elsewhere but couldn't reproduce it here - same with Jimmy Sirrel (ex Notts C)

As for calling Blades fans buffoons who actually think McCabe has done some good is about as pathetic as it comes. He is far rom perfect but to attribute ALL problems to McCabe is just beyond comprehension. There's something about English culture, that someone HAS to be to blame - seems to make it easy when reasoned logic is hard to think of.

I think the Fleetwood fans have a valid enough reason to optimistic about that performance. I've been up there today and watched United team that was quick out of the traps and probably somewhat overwhelmed the home team however once again we took our foot off the pedal and I think we let them back into the game, they played some pretty decent football at times (especially in the second half) and as a whole on the balance of things I think they did enough to warrant a point.

We have had at least 1 stand out embarrassing result each season in this league since relegation. 0-1 at Wycombe, 0-4 at Stevenage, 0-3 at Crewe. On paper this is not so bad as we got a point but for some reason I feel it goes with those other results that are symbolic of our current shitness.

He's the bloke in charge (or is he half in charge with the Paper Prince?). He made his bed when he proclaimed to the masses after we got promoted that we wouldn't be celebrating a promotion again (the do appear to have been prophetic words although not with the meaning we felt they had at the time). Every decision since the following relegation have been those of a clueless, disinterested man. He even managed to eventually find a co investor who appears to have fairly tight pockets as I haven't seen much evidence for the game changing investment so far. As for Nigel Clough I'm not sure if there is a good manager in there whose ability is being stymied by a lack of support from either the board or his playing staff; or is he a poor manager being cut too much slack because of his surname?

Preston aside (and Blackpool in the FA Cup a couple of years ago), this was the biggest game in their history. When you put that into context, you can see it's far from patronising, as someone said above, they're living the dream.

This is as far as they can go, and most of their fans know it. They may well have a freak season and finish off somehow scraping through the play-offs but they can't survive on the crowds they get and Pilley's pockets aren't bottomless. I fully expect him to move to Blackpool as soon as The Oyston's finally relinquish their grip and Fleetwood will sink back down again. For the time being, good luck to them.

We should still have buried them yesterday though

Like it or like it not , the Blades would have gone bust without Mr McCabe and the McCabe family . Forget about playing Fleetwood , we would be playing Flyde . . Mr McCabe saved the ground and the club.

you are probably correct - I won't write what I actually think about the situation as it would just annoy the ones who live constantly in the past.

Incase youv'e not noticed mate Lord Bos of Eckington. brought up a thing that McCabe apparently did in the past, incidently are we the only club who could ever go out of buisness:rolleyes:

So what i would go on to say is stop living in the past because what McCabe has done wrong for this club far outweighs what he's done right. One instance for this is where are we now,and where were we when he took over, and on that note i think we will now leave it alone, stop living in the past and actually realise where the fuck we are now.Not directed at you or any particular person 'btw',just an insight into where we are with who is still in charge.
