OK own up....come on own up...which one of you gits dragged Roy out the pub, for he must have been enjoying his seventh pint for this nonsense on here...cmon who's the guilty party.......
Cheers Roy

“beat the ones around us and don’t worry about the top 6, which includes Sheff Utd.”

😊

Underestimated yet again, and yet again they seem to wonder how we beat them?
Well, atleast were not suprised, they were schooled today, and if we had taken all our chances, it could've easily been 6, I just wish Didzy would put one away and end this Barron spell, I'm sure he would kick on then and start looking a bit more confident, he's got the skill, he just needs to believe in himself a bit more!
COME ON Didz, get it in the onion bag son!!

I don't think there's anything wrong with his confidence. But we cannot, and must not, rely on him to be a striker, because he isn't one. I thought he was outstanding yesterday, it was a toss-up between him and Fleck for my MOTM. But his best role is linking up play from midfield to attack. 3 goals scored yesterday and not one of them from a striker. That's why we need to buy another striker in Jan.

Thanks Roy

I realise it may well have been covered on anther current thread but that Wade Elliott goal was necessary for us to be where we are now.

How very Zen

Burnley fans acting like Arsenal fans tells you all you need to know.

Never stoop this low Blades no matter how long we're in this league.

Oh, but we will. We will.

Cheers Roy , I expected the "worse display in a decade" type of comments today, not sure what else they could sat tbf they don't know a lot about us. One thing we can agree on Burnley were absolute shit yesterday, their tactics seemed to be pass it about at the back a bit until the got pressed to their own penalty area then hoof it long and hard for Barnes and the Gypo to chase it.
CW/AK schooled Dyche and our team owned Burnley the whole game, they should be thankful they went back to the mills with only a 3-0 defeat it could have been a lot worse.

Barnes did cause our defenders problems in individual battles. He regularly won headers or got his body in between. But we always had a spare defender to cover.

I can see how their tactics would work when Wood is fit and McNeil is on form. But yesterday was pure Blackwellian garbage.

Cheers Roy, pretty balanced!
“Exploit their weaknesses?”
What fckin weaknesses?😂

Great read Roy as usual....Some great comments in there apart from the same old comments about THIER worst performance and particularly the last one saying we were shit.
However the best comment was that we are top six really enjoyed that one

Cheers for this Roy.

I spot a few off days and worst performances smattered in there, long may that continue. With a few nods of appreciation too. It's interesting, that for now, the appreciations are along the lines of "they're a together bunch who work hard for one another" about stamina and endeavour. We're not quite at the point yet where the compliments include "he's a player".

Also:

"That being said they will find the second half of the season far tougher than the first so they need to rack-up as many points as they possibly can before the turn of the year.” That old chestnut. That an arbitrary line drawn in the sand, halfway through the fixture list, will somehow hugely change matters. It's as if they're hoping it'll bring a change and that we'll start to struggle. Instead, we're taking it all one game at a time.

I actually agree with that second part
It does get much tougher in the second half of the premier League season, not sure why

I suppose that teams just really start scrapping for their lives at both ends

In our last season we were eleven points clear of the drop zone and still went down

I have no idea how I managed to get this view from together judging by my hangover.

You're slacking Roy, just copy and pasting stuff from the last three seasons

They were a set of fucking Neanderthals before that match too. I’ve never seen such a Large collective group of utter shit bags in my life. It wasn’t just in an isolated incident or particular area. Every one of them
Same with me,I was casually walking to lane .I'd just finished work so I had no blades colours on me.Then 3 burnley coaches drove past and most on back of coaches were giving me finger and tosser signs.I could have been just a normal bloke walking to moor to get my veg for sunday dinner.Twats

In all my years of watching football I have always thought that racking up as many points as you can in the first half of the season should be matched by racking up as many points as you can in the second half of the season.

Yes they are. Personal experience, but at Wembley 2009 they acted like a right set of wankers after the match, contrasted to the decency shown by Wolves and Huddersfield fans after those play off finals.
I agree. I had to endure a lot of unpleasant stick after that game.

Yes because in the second half of the season you play completely different teams to in the first half of the season! NOT!

What all 30,000 of them? I seriously doubt it. Personal experience 😉.I don't understand how you could possibly paint every one of them as twats when I imagine you only met a few?

Even the simple folk of Burnley are embarrassed by losing to us........

Barnes did cause our defenders problems in individual battles. He regularly won headers or got his body in between.

First 15 minutes was the most uncomfortable I've seen JOC. I thought he was in for a real challenge.

Towards the end though there was an aerial 1v1, JOC won it, and came away literally laughing.

In our last season we were eleven points clear of the drop zone and still went down
And yet under Mr Basset we didn't start playing until after Christmas,
or so it was said at the time...….. ;)
I think under Mr Wilder we will just keep on improving ...

And another one bites the dust,
bam bam !!!,,,,,,,,:D

You’d also expect teams not to underestimate us twice. That said, teams kept underestimating Leicester when they won the league, week in week out the ‘big’ clubs tried to play a high line and just got picked off. I wouldn’t be surprised if we switched to a 3412 again at some point in the second half of the season, just to give the opposition something different to think about.

This 'they will find it tougher in the 2nd part of the season' quote is just total bollox.

Yes it is good to get as many points on the board as quickly as possible, but then hasn't that always been the way of things? If I have a busy day at work scheduled, I like to get a decent mornings work under my belt to give me a bit of breathing space in the afternoon. That's common sense.

As it happens, my views are the same as CWs, in that I think we will grow into the season and only get better, once the initial fear factor has subsided, and we totally accept mentally that we truly belong at the top table. Then I think we will go from strength to strength and become evne better. I think (injury free run permitting) we could have a very good 2nd part of the season. We will know theres nothing to fear and start to settle down with our play.
