Just looking at the stats, it kind of backs up what you're saying. We actually shaded the territory 51.4% to 48.6% (ie, the ball spent more time in their half than ours) - just shows how all their possession was in completely non-dangerous areas.

We attempted more passes inside their box than they did in ours. They also played 291 passes square or backwards compared to our 133, and 123 passes in their own defensive third compared to our 44. We just used the ball so much better than them and I felt like we were pretty happy with them knocking it about inside their own half while we were ahead.
Cheers for that. I certainly felt that we were changing the pace and almost going up a gear at will

We needed another goal and just went out and got it, job done.

I’d say that was one of the finest results of the season so far

The first bloke says that our goal in the 2nd half was our only chance, which is true apart from Leon’s easy header and Washington’s shot when he cut in from the left and delayed a bit too long.

So, just the three chances then.....

Well that was fun.

So...we’re just waiting for the guy to come along and tell us that Roy hasn’t picked the most representative posts...

Not really. I hear music lovers talking just as much nonsense. How many people who say they like music can actually read it or play an instrument?

Interesting analogy to those that say if you didn't play at a certain level you can't know owt about football.

I know one or two musicians who have that same ivory tower view as well.

I struggle to play the spoons but I'd like to think I have some understanding of what constitutes a good, sometimes great, piece of music.

Well said sir.

Wonder if that first bloke was the same one who threw the ball back at our player (Stevens I think) like a ****.

Both are to be enjoyed for what they are. Back to the original post that I quoted, which was referring to the Brentford fan posting obvious nonsense about the Norwood goal. Could from ignorance, but I reckon just blind loyalty.

In sport and music you don't have to be able to give a top class performance in order to recognise one.

I suppose, from certain places in the ground (toilet, tea bar, wherever) it may have seemed the Norwood goal was deflected. Fair do's.
I think the basic idea we are a "functional 4-4-2" is down to plain stupidity rather than loyalty (unless it's loyalty to Jack Daniels).

They miss that little ginger player who used to link defence to midfield... they were wide open each time they conceded possession.

I'm not inferring in anyway shape or form you have to be an expert in any capacity to have an opinion, I'm shit at football, but there are basics that are just obvious.

That is what I was pointing out, some people may rate a player higher than somebody else does, that's fair enough as its subjective, but stating things that are categorically wrong is a different thing entirely which is what I meant. I didn't mean to come across as arrogant - If it's been taken that way then it was not intentional.

Music is a totally different beast, I play numerous instruments to a high standard and my opinion is always correct. (I am joking)

I do (or more accurately did) play to a professional level. I always thought I could know and learn more musically. Like football, the paying customer opinion is more important than expert punters. They may have the knowledge to analyse and critique, but they don't pay the rent. You do what you do and hope it's liked and successful.

Some fans are just pricks, and Brentfords are right up there
I was going to post last night that the bunch of whinging, shandy drinking, Southern tossers would see something completely different to everybody else, but I couldn't be arsed

It is one fuck-nugget to be fair. Most comments are reasonable and realistic.

Tony Gale and the commentator were just as bad on the red button at times. They were laughing about "Sheffield a bit early to be taking it into the corner" after about 82 minutes when quiet clearly Freeman Coutts and Basham were trying to create an opening as we see regularly down the flanks.

The commentator also informed us that Fleck was a bargain buy for about £100K from Rangers ;)

Apart from that, I didn't think they were too bad. I wasn't expecting a commentary at all on the Red Button.

Like I say at times they were bad. Tony Gale was very complimentary about Washington's contribution for example.

Nice to see some Brentford fans havent lost the delusional nature where they think they are better than they are. Dont where that fan saw about Brentford having a plenty of chances. As Keith said Henderson was unlucky as bar 2 goals he had nothing to do

Im delighted with 3pts & equals out the Rotherham draw. As any time you beat Brentford cant think of a easy game we had against then you knew you were in for tough 90mins. Even going back to League 1

Now they are the kind of stats I like

"..big, work hard, close down all day but surprisingly very little punch up top"

I didn't know Paul Parker was a Brentford fan

"we gifted them three goals tonight, created more opportunities than them"

Ha ha ha
We have so little punch up front that we are the 2nd highest scorers in the league !

Cheers Roy. Balanced comments mostly apart from the 1st bell end who clearly was watching a different game.
They clearly lack a leader on and off the pitch and think they might be in deep shit.
Who cares?. Fuck em. UTB

“While not suited to our style of play and rubbish on the ball, we could do with a John Egan or Harlee Dean who would put their head on crosses. ”
Is this the same John Egan who they had our pants down for, who they had a ready made replacement for who is younger and an all round better player ? Probably the guy who scored the opening goal PMSL ........... what a plank. Seems like one or two still think we are a set of bruisers playing a hoofball style 4-4-2 whilst they are the championships answer to Real Madrid ......... you couldn't make it up.
