9 page thread on here about a few people posting after a defeat suggests you lot are more bothered about it than anyone.

I'm more bothered by my hangover than losing one game.

Still have a hangover at 6pm the following day BFC?

Lightweight. More lemonade in the Becks Blue mate.......

You've signed up to a Sheffield United forum at 6 in the evening on a Sunday, just to post a crap comment and moan about your precious hangover.

Who's more bothered? :D

Fucking melt.

It takes a few seconds to sign up son.

Did you feel silly jeering Leon Clarke for missing his kick only for Billy to head in the winner from his pass?

Desist from referring to players by their first names as if they're your mate.

What's the collective noun for a bunch of deluded twats? I thought it was a "Hillsborough", but I may be wrong on this evidence.
It's a "nylons" as in the old TV advert " Brentford Nylons" - this bunch of west London wankers have always been referred to as this by their other London neighbours much to their distain.

No, I'm good, thanks.

Leon and Billy could have both scored again had it not been for offside.

Can't remember the names of your boys blasting into/over the bar from close range.

Brentford fan coming in peace here.

I will echo sentiments from others that it does seem a little like Roy has cherry-picked some of the worst comments out of context in order to unnecessarily antagonise. Some of them aren't even about you - the 'lacklustre and lethargic support again on opening day' in particular I know was a dig about our own fans, not yours.

As I'm sure you can imagine, all football teams have deluded fans that will never accept a defeat as their own team's fault - I'm sure your own fans have been guilty of the same at times. As I'm sure you're also aware, these views don't tend to be representative of the majority of the fanbase, just like these ones Roy seems to have scoured various forums for. If this seems to be the general mood of these post-match reports then I'd take them with a pinch of salt.

The true general consensus I seem to have seen is that it was always going to be a tough opening away game against a newly promoted team who are well up for it. You were better prepared than we were and were the deserving winners. We possibly could've nicked a point towards the end, but our finishing let us down. Jack O'Connell was singled out as obviously he was with us previously, but we all agree he had a much better game than our captain!

All the best of luck for the season, although I don't think I'm the only one who thinks you'll survive quite comfortably this season. See you at Griffin Park in March.

To be honest, I don't know how you failed to score from that triple chance in the second half. It was probably more difficult to miss! But even the best players manage it sometimes. Getting on for 11 years ago I recall Ronaldo missing an even easier chance - at the same end of the pitch as well.

Being Mr Boring here but Messr Roy obvs gets his comments asap after the final whistle, when emotions are high. So it seems perfectly normal that plenty of comments will be more reactionary than considered. And of course the page jumpers are to be highlighted, it's entertaining! Sad bastards like me can't wait to scroll the view from page come what may.

Anyway, no nickers need twisting. Brentford impressed me and can see them having another typically good season. And I'll always respect a West Londoner following the bees a fck ton more than Chelsea et al.

I haven't cherry picked any quotes. They were the comments on show at 7pm yesterday. Check your own board for posts from that time. You'll be hard pressed to find any positive comments about us or the game.

Also if you read the pre match view you will see there were many complimentary posts about us from your fans. It just so happens that yesterday when I went on your board emotions were high and that's what I was greeted with . I have been doing the View From for 6 years and as everybody who reads then will testify, I always try and strike a balance. Unfortunately there were no positive quotes to plunder yesterday from your site that I came across.

Dear Mr. Bee,

due to the high levels of common sense and rationality in your post, I'm sorry to inform you that your thoughts are not welcome on our forum.

Please return as a hysterical mardy cry baby, or else vacate the forum forever.

Regards,

TJB.

Bang on Tom. Enough on here with Fanny Magnet and Woodwardfan talking nonstop sense without some outsider coming in doing it.

If Want That I'll watch Mainwairing on Dads Army......

Ah, I see one of my fellow Bees has popped by to comment so nothing new from me I guess.

It's usual for an opposition fan to say ... fan in peace but I can’t say that entirely because I am fucked off with the original poster’s two blogs passed as "views from Brentford".

I am a moderator of the Griffin Park Grapevine where the comments have been lifted from and for some reason only the blogger can explain to you, he has decided to post the worst comments he can find and pass them off to you as “our” view with very little else for balance. If he’s going to do that with every club all season, it seems a bit worthless to me, especially when it’s two hours after a game where most away fans would take 3 hours plus to get home. I thought that kind of shite was for Twitter.

The real view, pre and post-match, if anyone is interested – nobody expected to go to an away ground we don’t generally have much luck at against a team on such a high and expect an easy ride. We do though have high hopes for our season as we too finished brilliantly last year, hung on to our best players (for now) and bought some quality in. We therefore hoped to win - didn’t work out that way but on a different day we could have got something out of that game. It seems you scored when you were on top, we didn’t (we even had a contender for worst miss of the season).

Consensus is we got the midfield wrong in playing three who are generally quite defensive and it is no co-incidence that when we brought more attack minded players on we got on top and finished strongly. So, evidently not under-estimating you. We were also missing a very good player in Sergi Canos on the left who is almost as important to our attack as Jota on the right. There are a few comments that you seemed a bit more ready for the game than us – not happy with that from our perspective as we have often started seasons slowly and it’s not good to hear us being out fought. Huddersfield did exactly the same to us last season.

Anyway enjoy your season and I’ll look forward to the return. This is a tough league as you’ll find but we will work out our best formation in time and we will be a match for any club on our day. If we can remove some of the inconsistency from last season, we’d expect to be challenging play offs at least - our confidence has been knocked back a bit today though. Can’t add to how you’ll do as I don’t know enough about you – I suspect you’ll be strong at home throughout which should see you comfortable so it’s what you do away that will define your season for you.

What's negative about these quotes?.

Look, your fans at 7pm yesterday were posting what I put in the blog. Check your board. I've been on since and the comments are much more balanced and complimentary but at the time I collected the quotes that's what I was greeted with. I haven't made them up.

It's clear you are embarrassed by the words of your own fans but don't try and make out like I have intentionally gone out to make your fans look like mugs when the words are on your board for all to read. Why out of all the views froms I have done would I pick Brentford out to antaganise our fans? If you are angry then have a go at the fans on your board who posted the negative stuff because that's what you are really wound up about.

The majority are like that - you for some reason have decided to post them as the exception though but if that's what you think you need to post, up to you. You must be able to see from the reaction you've got that people here think we've spent a week slagging you lot off - we haven't.

So, I'm just telling all what Brentford fans actually think to give some much needed balance. Do you honestly think that we, as a club, have become big time Charlies after years playing in lower leagues? We're delighted to be competing well at this level after so many years . We also make no apologies for being a very, very good footballing team - it is pretty much recognised throughout the division now that our technical standard is up there with the best. Our weaknesses - including the size of budget we have available to us - holds us back though. We revel in the #tinpot hash tag and the one thing that makes us laugh most is when supposed bigger clubs we have played under estimate us. They don't now so much - we have a lot more respect.

As for the comments in this thread, most of them are much, much worse towards us than anything one or two might have said about you and I'm afraid my friend that is as a reaction to what you've chosen to put in your blogs.

And do you honestly think I would choose your club to antagonize our fans? Whether you think the comments I posted were unbalanced or not, they were still comments posted by your fans and I think you will find it's that's what has caused our reaction. I haven't posted anything that wasn't posted on your board.

As I said, take your own fans to task if you are that angry about how you are being perceived because it's that what has caused the retaliation with the comments over your club, nothing I have written .
