I thought in the second half it was Brentford that were dishing it, losing their discipline, mainly because it wasn't going their way. Happy with our performance and the 1-0 win, good test for us in the first game of the new campaign and we more than held our own, against a team who are no mugs at this level.

Strange they think they so comprehensively out played us, yet the only chant I heard from them during the first 60 minutes was 'Come on Brentford', Not a chant normally associated with a team that has the upper hand in a game and I didn't see many of their fans clapping them off at half time.
They are probably basing their views on the last 20 minutes when we did sit back, resorting a bit too much to long clearances (which is totally understandable) and their subs did make a difference, conveniently forgetting about the rest of the game.

We did play a good pressing game, working hard to close down and not letting them settle, but if they are confusing that with "clogging" and "bullying" then they need to learn something about football.

There is no doubt they are a good team with a couple of excellent players, as many teams in this division also have, that doesn't mean we have to allow them time and space to show the world how good they think they are. The fact they couldn't beat us maybe shows they aren't as good as some of their fans think, or we aren't as poor as they would like to believe. I mean, how dare a team straight from the 3rd division dare to play against the mighty Brentford.

Having calmed down after a couple I can actually snigger and take heart after the anger has subsided from the deluded Brentford, now "massive Brentford" post match view. Brilliant again weird one btw we've missed you!

So, what we can take from this is that the minnows that are SUFC are totally underrated by La Liga massive clubs, fans and management. We can keep under the radar as cloggers and bully boys who have no skill or football quality. Fine by me, teams will set up to face us open, unafraid and under prepared. We'll quietly go about our business of undoing them with our quality, and before they lift their heads out of their sanctimonious arses we'll be sitting pretty much higher in the table than anyone expects.
