Wasn’t it a couple of games ago that Sharp was tackled in similar circumstances on the edge of the area and it carried on two or three yards inside.
Ref gave a free kick on the line.
Where is the friggin’ consistency?

Sorry about the FIRST , i cheated, typed first read second, i should be flogged, whats with the giro quip

One moron says it doesnt matter where the offence started, if it continues into the area its a pen! Have the rules changed or is this fella an idiot?

When did the rule change to say that if a player falls over in the box it’s a pen regardless of where
he was tackled, must have missed that?
If the player is tackled outside the box but falls inside the box, it's not a penalty.

If a player is tackled outside the box and the tackle (contact) continues inside the box it's a penalty.

The laws only state that for holding though:

"If a defender starts holding an attacker outside the penalty area and continues holding inside the penalty area, the referee must award a penalty kick."

“Absolutely loved the lads after that second goal, celebrated in front of the Sheff Utd giro collectors, then launched themselves into the South Stand, JA’s passion”

Utter clown. Yeah, nice one - nearly started a riot! Moron.

Giro...Have I woke up in 1986?
Only time I've heard the term "giro" is from someone in their 50s or 60s who's wasted their existence on this planet, im guessing/100% sure this Bournemouth fan fits that description pretty well.

I look forwards to what they make of it on Quest later.

Ground full of fucking nerds, virgins, trainspotters and pensioners. Hope our lot raised it to the ground.

Only for holding?
Although the rule does state holding, referees will use the rule for any foul.

There was an argument about this rule a few years back after a game between Man City and Barca. City centre back fouled Messi for a penalty when the contact began outside the box.
