It’s not just the poor outcomes with the var tech that is an issue.
I’m still pissed off with that Newcastle goal where the flag goes up but is ignored by the ref, so they score while our players stop playing.
But time and again in matches before and after that farce, refs have blown up immediately when the Lino flag is raised. Why is there no consistency on that?
This is only happening because of var so is highly relevant to the whole var debate
There was a Vote. VAR won. It's here to stay. What sort of fucking ...... something ..... traitor ..... go & live in a ..... something ..... take back ...... Get VAR Done ...... vote ..... been a Vote ...... you lot voted ...... how many re-votes do you want ..... best of three ..... been a Vote ..... not going anywhere ..... fucking Brexit Anology ..... do you fucking voting want ..... Snowflake .....The argument for VAR is as daft as the argument to remain in the EU.
Both horseshit.
Omitted racist. There was a Vote. VAR won. It's here to stay. What sort of fucking ...... something ..... traitor ..... go & live in a ..... something ..... take back ...... I didn't want to upset all those who think rattling on about VAR on the world wide interweb will change anything. It's. Been. Voted. On. You Lost. OK, we might end up with a Soft Snowflake VAR, but ..... something .. something .. something ..... keep voting on it until you get Your Way ....Omitted racist.

You are the Metropolitan Liberal Elite living in some sort of Bubble. In Stoke. In Bolton. In Easington. In Alfreton. Their football club Chairmen. All voted VAR. Voted. Lost. You.Like I said, daft.
And it's LIVE from Stockley Park as EPL and PGMOL officials inspect the office on "game day"

Its a frame every 0.02 seconds not 0.2.Michael Owen clearly doesn't understand how the technology works. It's not black and white it's several shades of grey.
The problem is the frame rate of the cameras that are used for VAR is too low. Apparently its 50 frames per second. So it takes an image every 0.2 seconds. VAR must choose a frame where the ball is actually kicked, so If one frame shows he's nearly kicking it, they must go to the next frame. The margin of error could be as much as 38cm when you also take into account the speed that players are travelling. So while it might be more accurate than the referee it's nowhere near accurate.
I know it's already been pointed out.Its a frame every 0.02 seconds not 0.2.
Agree with this - pitchside monitor (which they have) for which the 4th official has control, to flag CLEAR AND OBVIOUS errors to the ref. They all have a quick look and come to a sensible decision. No need for Stockley Park. We can then be left to talk about actual footballHad to get a majority of 14 and I don't think the Prem disclosed the votes, so all we know is at least 14/20 voted for it, and 3 of 20 aren't even in the league anymore.
Could theoretically be that the three relegated teams wanted it, and the three promoted teams didn't get asked so if some of those goes down might get spicy.
I'm in favour of a VAR system that works. We don't really have one currently.
They should rebrand it 'second look' or 'referee assistance system' or something, and just let the on pitch official look at everything. It's the men in a box miles away that's making it a farce.
Pipe the replays to the screen, let the ref decide and change the rules where you can to prioritise the game, not geometry.
I guess I'm the only one whose only issue with VAR offside decisions is the amount of time it takes for them to be decided?
They only take that long because of the absolute trigonometry fuckery.
Was really hopeful that it would be a benefit for the game. I’m totally disillusioned with it now
I am coming to believe that is the point of the PGMOL's abysmal implementation of VAR. Your starting point on VAR was, I think, like mine ... not sold, but hopeful (even optimistic) it could bring the officiating standard up and improve the game. As implemented, I am 100% against it. This is I think what the PGMOL wants. Through misapplication, they appear to be attacking the part of VAR that (surprise! surprise!) endangers the most officiating jobs (offsides/linesmen). I think the PGMOL is spiking VAR on purpose.
Or, to put it another way, to use the myriad of camera angles they have to correctly work out where each player is?
Interesting theory Jim - we will never know because no one will ever come clean about thatI am coming to believe that is the point of the PGMOL's abysmal implementation of VAR.
