The
I think the margin for error thing comes with the inadequate 50fps that the cameras run at.
Pukkis goal was an incredible piece of skill exquisitely timed and executed, VAR could well end up costing Norwich a cool £100m.
Sheffield United have one of twenty votes at the Premier League table. And the outcome of that vote is the Premier League agreeing to use VAR. There is no external, it's them over there, Bogeyman. The Premier League is the Clubs. It's "us".

It happened to norwich. Oh how I larfed.Stop been so nice about it.
No worries. The Big Prinz can vote against it the next time it comes up.they vote for it in November 2018 so we have no say in this. it was huddersfield fulham & cardiff
video decision couldve worked. if they had used common sense. they ended up with so many broken promises they make Nigel farage look trustworthy. everything they promised this high bar & not re refereeing games has turned out to be rubbish

The Premier League Club owners will absolutely love VAR, aimed as it is at the group of fans who generate/produce the most income. They're not going to vote against it are they?if they had 2nd vote now, i think this would be only season with it

Do they decide the winner of a 100m sprint with a crooked line that isn't looking directly across the finishing line? A motor race? A horse race?

It's a load of bollocks that will end up sending (some) teams down and get managers the sack.
VAR would give the race to the lass in red.![]()
But the people drawing the arbitrary lines at arbitrary points in play....Do they decide the winner of a 100m sprint with a crooked line that isn't looking directly across the finishing line? A motor race? A horse race?

Yeah the one in lane 5 because 4 and 7 were in phase 2.
Remember VAR is not the technology that decides its the Referee using VAR drawing his little lines that decides. What I dont understand is in all the VAR decisions I have never once see the referee go over to the TV screen at half line and look at the decisions. They were doing it all the time in the world cup. Pretty sure if he did then some of these dubios VAR decisions would be different.

Think people have short memories.
Before VAR there were many more clear errors every week....some refs felt intimidated at the big clubs with bigger crowds.
It was really common to see players crowd the ref...disrespect and intimidate the ref.
The behaviour of players is now much improved....they don’t even seem to try to con the ref as much.
In theory VAR should see a big improvement...it’s the way it’s been implemented thats the problem.
Regards offside take the measurement from each players foot....ignore shoulders and how players are leaning in various direction.
Speed up decisions...set a max of 60 seconds or 1 minute.....if VAR can’t decide in that time then let the original decision stand.
I understand that VAR will be reviewed in the Summer and suspect/ hope some changes will occur because the current rules are spoiling the enjoyment.
I'm a fan of VAR for offside. I have listened to arguments against. I understand some people just don't want to use the line drawing technology & go back to the linesman's eye & flag. Fair enough.
But some people are saying (the equivalent of) "give them 20cm leeway" "if they're level they're not offside" "there needs to be daylight"
All those "solutions" do is move where you draw the lines. Currently, you can have someone 1cm offside. If you give them 20cm leeway, there'll be people 21cm offside. If you give them level, there'll be people 1cm off level. If you give them daylight, there'll be people 1cm short of daylight. There'll still be tight calls. I'm happy with it as it is.
(I'm not too fussed about the dick swinging oooohhhh I'm a big celebrator & I do all the limbs & shit, because I'm a self proclaimed superfan & it's spoiling it for me argument - but feel free....)
